Re: Official MLB Power Pros thread!

My Gamestop didn't have any copies for PS2, but my Best Buy had 21.

One final gripe that I'm having with this game: The way players are selected/re-selected on the field. All of the time, they totally have the wrong guy selected, and one time it really costed me... especially when it wouldn't let me switch. Then it finally switches right when I realize which guy it is, and I'm running the wrong way again. Now I know there's a way to "lock" the selected fielder you have by holding a button, but that's way too tedious.

You'll get used to baserunning in due time. I was terrible when I first started and it's second nature now. Hit the practice mode.

        Did you mean fielding Zam?

Yeah, that took me the longest to get used to when I started out with Pawapuro 10. I still have issues with it every now and then.

I've got it on assisted+normal right now and it's keeping me from feeling like learning the base-running is a burden while I'm trying to figure the rest out. There have definitely been better baserunning systems in other baseball games. Is there a way to lead off or is that automatic?

Oh shoot. I didn't even read your post carefully. That reminds me to add something to the tips thread. Check it out, you'll be happy.

No, I mean that's not the problem. I know that L1 switches to the closest person, but on any shots between two players (especially when they choose the one furthest away), ONE step in the wrong direction will normally make the difference between a hit and an out. Not only that, I guess I'm fine with that, as long as the game doesn't decide to automatically change players the same *** **** time that I am! When that happens, two switches equal going back to my original fielder.

Hard to explain unless you saw a video of what happened.

Yikes, I feel bad for the Japanese fanbase who have the gimped edit mode:

In addition to the American MLB Power Pros getting a full edit mode and the Japanese version getting jack, Konami updated the official Powerful Major League 2 site with info on player passwords. They're using a new system to update the official site with passwords of fixed player stats. Fans get to vote online for the two players they'd like to see updated with passwords and in two weeks, those will be uploaded by Konami.

Wait, what was that? TWO WEEKS FOR TWO STINKING EDITS? Don't strain yourself, Konami. Even worse, it looks like the voting has been overtaken by Chinese fans who are voting for Wang about twice more than Ichiro or Matsui.

That's funny because Wang isn't even from China.

Hmm, I tried this last night, and the teams wound up with MLB players. Is there another option I am unaware of?

there are two sides (MLB/ AAA)- I was able to hit the button and get all rookie type players (or at least select those that would be let go for a draft)

I hope this 2K and Konami partnership continues. The idea of a PS3/360 PawaPuro Major, released here in the states, excites me greatly.
