Re: What is the greatest baseball videogame of alltime
Tony LaRussa baseball II
Description
Play/Manage a team of either some of the greatest teams ever from 1901-1968, or the best of the best on each team, with a total of 2000 players to choose from, each ranked in 134 different categories. If that's not enough, you can create your own teams/leagues and set how each computer manager manages, team colors, and so on.
You can play at classic or modern ballparks with realistic dimensions. Wind is a factor in the baseball game; lots of home runs or a no hitter? Ron Barr calls the plays as they unfold, while jumbo screen replays also help you analyze performances. The game aims to allow you to answer the 'What If's of baseball.Comment

Earl Weaver Baseball on the Amiga
So far ahead of its time....it was an amazing game that was a little over 1meg and fit on 1 single Floppy disk!Comment

Re: What is the greatest baseball videogame of alltime
I have or have had all of them. The best game I have played is The Show 08 although I've been playing 2K8 more, I think to get the sliders right to see if it will play a good game of baseball. I already know The Show does.
As far as MVP 05, I have both the Xbox version and the PC. The music on the Xbox version drives me nuts and the stuttering, bad frame rates are nearly as bad on both versions as 2K8. I do enjoy the PC version with the mods but I have to give The Show the nod for the smoothest gameplay I have ever seen in a baseball game.Originally posted by ImTellinTimIf I lived in Waco, I would find you and kick you right in the nuts.Comment

Re: What is the greatest baseball videogame of alltime
I'll be the lone WSB 98 representitive. It's close, but I got more joy from playing that game than any other game. And oddly enough, I didn't play it until about 4 years after it came out. My sophmore year in college one of my teamates lent me and my roomates his Saturn and the rest was history. We played the hell out of that game for the better part of 8 months.
Next would be MVP 2005. This is the first and only game in which I completed a full season...and I did it twice.
MLB 2K8 is an unknown. I bought it today and played one game...not nearly enough to even have an opinion of it.
MLB 2K7 was a bit of both worlds. At time it was great and at others very frustrating.Comment

Earl Weaver Baseball for the Amiga....The best IMO. The stats would alway be close to real thing. Not bad for a video BB game. Tony Larussa 3 1996 version for the PC was good too.Comment
