    Re: What is the greatest baseball videogame of alltime

    my favorite baseball games of all time;

    1. harball III w/ the mlb players and teams expansion.

    Loved that game,...great player creation and stats too.

    2. Earl Weaver Baseball, again w/ the mlb expansion, but it had all the greats too, and even the negro league. you could build your park w/ wall heights and distances! (why no game since?)

    I never got to play HH 04, maybe I'll try to download, and I think mvp is overrated - I owned it and thought it has some very wonky play mechanics. eg. hit variety was terrible, and homers went way way way way too high in the air among other things. I did like the pitching though.

      Man, I just put in my PS2 version of MVP '05 and I can't find classic seasons or cyberfaces or anything. Weird.

      Regardless, Hardball III cleans the floor with both MVP and The Show (although IIRC that game was also modded, but I think Acclaim released the mods so its technically "part of the game").

        For what it's worth, I think I devoted more time to Baseball Stars for the Nintendo than any other game ever, except for maybe the first 2nd Larussa game for the Genesis. Of course at the time Baseball Stars was out I was in my early teens so I had less responsibilites and activities taking up my time then....such as work, wife, and kids to name a few. I used to create 6 major league teams and their rosters and play the hell out of that game.

        For me, it's Bases Loaded. Nothing will come close to the enjoyment I got out of that game.
        That game was fun too. I can still remember that Fendy guy from the DC team that always jacked one out on me. Dude had some serious pop in his bat. LOL Ah...good times.

          I just downloaded harball V, and it's a pretty good evolution of the series..I saw there was a 6 also, but haven't tried it. also i belive it was Accolade.

          To be clear though, I wouldn't play HBIII over the show now, but it was way ahead of its time, and i put more hours back then into, than I would any title now by far.
          I saw high heat 2003 on the net, is that any good compared to this 2004 everyone is talking about?

            I was just reminded of a game I kind of liked. Anyone remember Interplay Sports Baseball 2000? It had Darren Erstad on the cover. The game was fun at the time, but it was the game that introduced me to message boards. We had just gotten internet at the school for which I work; I came across a message board that discussed this game, and it was there that I learned of High Heat too. I will add that game to my list.

              Earl Weaver Baseball still remains unsurpassed in terms of AI and ball physics.

                  If you can believe it...World Series Baseball. The first one for the Xbox. The game has features that are missing but the overall experience is fantastic. I`m still playing it and I love it. Feels much more like real baseball to me.
