Just a few more notes...
I think 2k baseball is nearly perfect. The 3 things I can't stand are the dead stares and just totally mindless players in between plays. They really could have added more to that. The crowds are better but also need work how they look and interact. There are still those moments where it's bottom of hte 9th runner on 2nd and you can hear a cricket chirp. The crowds in general are improved but still pretty braindead. It's like they just cut off hte camera sometimes a second shorter so you dont see how stupid crowd reactions are vs actually improving them. The crowds are maybe a bit more energetic and stand on their feet sometimes. Look good in spots. The commentary is the same sometimes where they just kind of say what they do.
Also the overlays can be just ugly and literally take you out of the game. I avoid trying to get perfect pitch because it hurts my eyes when that thing flashes on the screen.
Games dont have to have the best graphics in the world. IT's more about what you do with them.
Franchise mode has a lot of great features but can be somewhat mindless like has been said. IT's more about just going that extra mile with 2k and adding those little things. I don't know why they get so close but don't every year.
2k always drops the ball in some area or does something completely stupid. NBA 2k is a bit more polished and is great. Their baseball game they just didn't have the tech to add that in between stuff. NBA doesnt really have that either. But there isnt as much going on in space/timeouts/in between plays in basketball as there is in baseball.
2k baseball just has that halfassed feeling to it. This years is actually really close and really good, that's what is disapointing. The stadiums look really great and the gameplay is fun. Someone should really ask 2k why. It's pretty obvious. IT's like why??
EA is even worse. It's like their games do nothing horribly wrong but nothing horribly right. I think they do it on purpose. But it's not like I can be like hey EA why do your games do this every year?! and get a straight answer.
It's not really complaining either. It's more just why not make a game what it could be? Shouldn't these companies be trying to make the best game possible? Isn't that good for everyone involved?
