Grabbed RBI for PS4 on Thursday. Fired it up for the first time today, just to look through the Franchise options. Looks pretty good so far.

      I ran into two bugs:

      1) Even though I was using the most recent roster update, any newly added player (Otani, Pedro Alvarez) was missing their photo inside Franchise. Each player had his photo in the roster management screens outside Franchise.

      2) Any time I went into Roster Management, I couldn't get back out. Pressed circle a million times. Nothing. Had to close out of RBI and restart it.

I simmed through a season and for a first crack at Franchise, they've added some good stuff. Player retirements, progression, regression, trades. There's a sweet spot I hope the team gets to of a Franchise with decent options with fun, arcade style gameplay that doesn't take a whole friggin' evening to play 9 innings.
Addicted to ballin', I have to get my ends.

played 12 games so far. Enjoying playing quick baseball games.

Couple of stat issues to bring up if mlbam is still looking at this.

Looks like simmed games never use the bench or PH. All teams i have not played have never pinch hit it looks like based on browsing the stats. Al teams only have starters with ABs and NL teams only have starters and pitchers with ABs. In games I play the CPU does PH when appropriate.

Any player that I or the CPU pinch hit/run the player does not get credit for a game played in the stats. So all my bench players show 0 Games but all have ABs

I had one very odd instance where a player in the final box score got credit with a home run when he did not hit won. In the box score he had a HR but no run or rbi. I only gave up one run in that game it was on a single. Will upload a screen shot from my console later of the box score. Not sure if it was caused but what appear sto just be an odd graphical bug where one a relief pitcher after pinch hitting the batter briefly shows the last batter from the wrong team not the current batter.

So far just minor things still having fun. I am a bit of a stat nerd so if in the future you want to add more stats please do. Would like to see things like sacrifices tracked ground ball% k/9 etc. Really any additional stats are appreciated if you want to go nuts check out the old Power Pros series since it had everything imaginable.

Playing online today, game crashed when bringing in a new pitcher to replace a pH from the previous inning...seems to happen when you are forced to bring in a pitcher between innings. Weird graphical glitch of multiple batters and the catcher all appearing at home plate at the same time.

Same thing on the iOS version- game crashed when I changed pitchers between innings.

A few more quick notes then a "general thought":

1.) In Exhibition mode I can't choose to be the Home Team. There's no way to move P1 to the right or CPU to the left. Strange....

2.) Again, we should be able to use Free Agents/Legends in Exhibition Mode...makes no sense that we can't. Would love to have Legends face each other.

3.) A dive/jump button would be nice...although the CPU AI of the Player-controlled fielder does seem to jump/dive appropriately most of the time.

In general, I am having fun with this game, so it is definitely a step in the right direction. However, the Developers should have played a few more "Arcade" games before making certain final design decisions on this one. For instance, what's wrong with implementing a hot/cold meter in the game. If my fielder makes 3 great plays in a row, maybe he gets hot and is "hot" when he comes to bat. Or an arcade-style announcer. A few elements from the Bigs 2/NFL Blitz/NBA Jam/Hot Shots Golf could have helped the arcade flavor.

I don't own the game but from videos I've watched I think you can hit the L1/LB button to toggle between Home/Road team on the team selection screen. Give that a try.

Agree about being able to use Legends in Exhibition Mode. They should have added 3 or 4 Legends teams similar to what MLB The Show 18 did this year and maybe added some classic stadiums as the default home stadiums for those teams.

Can we please get a way to change the CPU uniform in Franchise? The CPU teams never use their alternates.

I can assure you the developers have played nearly every baseball video game ever made, including working on several of them (MVP, 2K, All Star Baseball and as far back as Micro League Manager; may have even missed a few). All features take time and resources and we do our best to prioritize. While many people call this an arcade game. We don't. We call it a simulation with retro-style gameplay. It is made in the spirit of the original RBI Baseball. Which was considered a simulation at its time. Hot/cold and mood-type systems have been on the backburner and we may implement that in a future version. You'll probably never see power-ups in this product unless we make the decision to go in the arcade direction.

You are free to keep thinking that! Unfortunately, those buttons do nothing. Sounds like the auto-dive and jump systems are working fairly well though!

MLB Games, Thanks again for coming on here and answering our questions! Your interaction with us (customers) is very important and much appreciated.

The guy that was talking about how to play with the legends. Since the only way to play with them seems to be in Franchise, I am going to try to start a franchise and try to trade legends to my team, then deal them to other teams. For example, I would trade one of my players for Ted Williams then trade him to the Red Sox, trade that player back to the legends etc. We may be able to work around that way.

Thank you for the clarification on "arcade vs. sim." That changes a lot of my perspective about the game. As such, please DISREGARD my comments about "other" arcade games, power ups, etc.

As a direct descendant of the original RBI Baseball games this game ('18) does its job well. And much more fun to play than '14 through '17.

I'm glad that switching between home and away was just a user error on my part!

Not to be greedy, but I would love to see a "retro graphics and sounds" option. Or even add it as DLC...I would pay for that. There was also an option to watch a CPU vs CPU game in the '88 NES version.
