Hmm... I wouldn't quite qualify those as sissy at all. I don't really know if they figured a way for those medium throws, though... like, not the short enough distance for an underhand toss, but can't be powerful enough to fire at somebody. They are awkward, but they aren't the sissy throw that I was talking about. I can somewhat see your complaint about lack of improvement in that area, but they have been changed.

WOW, I always been a fan of this game, but it still looks like crap, the animations are just terrible again, the Outfeild animations are bad once again, the batting animations are bad again. I just hope the 360 version is better, because thats the one I'm buying, They really need to fire Kush, they really stink it up bad.

Sorry to tell you Football, but the new batting and fielding animations that you so desire probably won't be happening on your 360 either. Take a look at a post I made in another thread that provides some information about it:

Here are a few quotes from GameInformer about the upcoming 360 version:

"Like 2ks first next-gen basketball foray, THE MAJORITY OF THE ADDITIONS to this version are of the graphical sort."
"ALL OF THE STADIUMS in the game have been completely rebuilt for this version"
"New gameplay features are also being introduced, such as context-based moves like leaning over a railing to snag a fly ball."

Maybe this will end some of your guys' speculation. As you can see, the entire game engine is not being rebuilt, only the graphics and the stadiums. As far as gameplay goes, although everything is not being redone from scratch, they are adding things (like NBA 2K6 did), such as leaning over the wall for foul balls (which is somewhat funny since I believe both MVP 06 and MLB 06 already have these animations in their current gen efforts).

I am still going to hold out judgement on the 360 version.First off we didn't even see a video yet and from what they did with Nba2k6 from the Xbox to the 360 animation wise,and pulling off the moves which were much smoother.I am just hoping its better than what we saw so far from the videos of the Xbox version

Well,

I like what I am hearing about some of the improvements - such as one-butoon swinging, getting the catcher more involved and in-game highlights.

But the animations, just like last year, are butt ugly (see elaboration below).

However, if the gameplay is fixed, I will still play and enjoy this game and its beautiful graphics.

Ugly Animation Checklist w/ Animations held over from last year (abridged):

1. Infielder sudden speed dives
2. Crouching Tiger stance for fieders
3.Ugly Double play animation for 2nd baseman (the one w/ the little hop skip and soft throw to first)
4.Baserunners stop on a dime on the bags and do this wierd pivot to position themselves in a particular direction (watch basserunners on the corners in baserunner windows at the end of plays)
5. Torso-twisting swings.

3rd baseman charges on bunts!

He did last year when fielder speed was raised to 70 and up.

The animations def look smoother -- some nice stuff with the batter in the box, preparing to hit.

Those are SISSY THROWS!!! You want specifics? Play MVP. That's the way throwing animations are supposed to be done. NOT, the noodle arm high arching crap that 2k gives us every year! I was really hoping that this would be the first improvement made. I was wrong. Until they make a proper throwing system, this game will NEVER be taken seriously. It's a complete damn joke. When you throw the ball soft it has more of an arch to it. When you throw the ball harder it straightens out more. Is it really that hard to figure out??? Just damn!

Watch the second video. When the ball is hit to the right center the center fielder throws the ball to the cutoff man with arch to it. That's fine because it's a long throw. Then, the cut off man throws a high archer to home??? I thought he was just tossing it to the guy on second and it just kept going. That is piss poor. Plus, watch when the cut off man throws the ball. His arm goes down to his waist and the ball seems to pop up into the air while his hand is down. WTF? Also in that video, when the ball is hit up the middle and the second baseman makes a diving stop, he comes up to fire to first to beat the runner and it has this high arch to it. If he's throwing the ball hard to first it's going to be straight. Totally unacceptable for this when it can and should be fixed.

I never said I wasn't getting it in the first place, I said I will most def. be getting the 360 version, I can't only hope it's better then what I have saw so far. It really looks like crap for the xbox/Ps2. Anyway I got th egreatest mod fro MVP05 ans now it's MVp06 and the game is great, I may pass up this game all together, who knows.

Look, I'm not talking about the throw itself... I'm talking about the animation. Everybody had a problem with the way that they threw the ball... not with the way the ball traveled through the air, if that makes sense.

If you played last year's game (and I'm having a hard time believing that anybody here complaining did... they're just going off of the bad rep and following suit), when player confidence was high, you'd see unbelievable cannons. This, for me, brought unrealistic play where getting a double or triple was impossible. I think they're doing it to better benefit the baserunner to get to the next bag. Perhaps the camera is playing tricks on us as well... you never know. But, to say that the throws themselves are like girls? Honey (j/k), it was never about that... and if it was... hi... there are sliders?

I have to admit, that latest clip was the best of the bunch. The running animation to steal base is still atrocious, however, the batting don't look as bad as I thought(the batting stride is still poor) And the camera view for batting is even better also. I still won't state my mind until a inning is played out for us to see how everything is played out together.
