"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
I'll be honest with you....it wouldn't kill me if it wasn't there, but I'm just saying that a lot of people have been very vocal about the littlest things as far as stadiums, arenas...SOCKS for Christ's sake...so the guy posts he's disappointed that a half a billion.....10 ACRE big stadium, highly visible in the background of a current MLB stadium is not in the game...and he gets dismissed like they forgot to put the bullpen phone in the dugout.
C'mon....let's be fair.
You guys are drooling that there are real minor league stadiums in the game(rightly so)....but they guy wants a real looking MLB stadium(even for one season) and it's...."ahh...so what"
I don't know....I guess I'm wrong...

I agree...but if you read the original post(which was very respectful in his displeasure if you ask me)....and then see this reply(which was a little less respectful if you ask me)....

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
The reason there is nobody correcting them, is because they ALL HAVE A DEMO to play and see for themselves.
NONE of us have yet to play 2K8, and when we all do, there will be things just like on the The Show boards.
There have been plenty of people correcting things over there before the demo came out. And the same responses here... "wait for the demo".
But once again, this thread has to turn into a Show vs 2K8.
Not to mention, not many 2K8 guys run over there and nitpick'ed at The Show before a demo came out, much like The Show fans have been doing over here, over and over the past week or so. The mods have the locked threads here to prove it.

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
Some people need to grow up and let people voice their opinion or find another site. Why do some feel the need to attack some ones complaints or suggestions. I agree with OP this is kind of weak to not have it, but like I said if it doesn't progress during your season. That would be worst in my opinion. I know Knight you disagree.Comment

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
what's sad is that you can't grasp the concept that some people think differently than you. Congrats if it doesn't bother you, but the only annoying thing is someone bashing another for having an opinion. Find another place if you dont like someone else's opinion.Yankees, Manchester United, Chicago Bears, New York RangersComment

Not weak at all IMO. It's a game design choice and the best one, again IMO. Looking at a half-built CitiField in April, May, June, July, August and so on would get old.Comment

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
I have ripped 2K its fair share but this should not be one of them. I don't think you would be saying this if The Show did not have it. Guys 2K8 should be a good game. I understand your a little on the edge w/ no demo.Comment

Ah yes, Motown ... nothing relevant to say, other than just quoting me with a snide remark to discredit me.
When others just moved along in a mature manner.
I said what I had to say, and that is that.
Apparently it touched you in such a way you had nothing relevant to say.
So true ... this would be a non-issue of The Show didn't even have it.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: No CitiField at Shea Stadium in MLB 2K8
While I agree that a couple of year's into a franchise it would be a bit annoying to see the construction still going on, most people don't play more than a season. Heck most people don't even get through 1 season. And if they do play multiple seasons (since some people do) then they are usually not playing every game so it probably wouldn't be that bad. And in case they did play every game then I would venture to guess they wouldn't get through 2 full seasons before the next version is out.
I think it would be great if 2k and the Show was able to do a progressive background like that but I doubt it would be worth the time to do it. If you think about it, not many places have the background change very often. Unless of course there is a stadium being built in the backgroundComment
