Re: Next Patch is coming soon
We won't get a list of things fixed in the patch until it's finished going through QA. They aren't going to announce it, when something may have to get taken out if it messes something up in the game. They won't (and shouldn't) announce a patch list until they're sure everything is going to make it through.
That's what they are going to do, yes. But it doesn't have to be that way.
If they are confident in their patch, tell us what the update is going to fix. There is absolutely no harm in that, unless the update is crap anyway. In which case, the smart move is to keep it secret.
There is no reason they can't tell us if the update will address injuries, errors, or the major flaws. And if something can't make it through, they could tell us that, too.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
They have them. But what they do is 'pool" meaning... They pretty look at the WHOLE market of gamers buying THEIR baseball or basketball games. They don't really have community stuff like EA does with 2ksports and operation sports...Brand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
If they release patch notes before passing 1st party submission and say they have increased errors, then find a show stopper bug with errors, then they HAVE to fix the issue instead of removing the change altogether. Announcing what you are going to fix makes you have to commit to changes that might not be stable. On the plus side, when a patch does fail submission, the dev team normally uses the extra time to get more fixes in.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
But, if they do that and for some reason it causes problems and they have to remove it. People will start complaining left and right about "how they lied to us", and the "You guys promised injuries" threads. It's a slippery slope, and there's no reason for 2k to go down it. I certainly wouldn't if I had to make the decision.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
as it's so hard to put say the patch is subject to change if a problem occurs in QA and Certification.
gosh, it's just so....hard to put that.
the only reason you don't proclaim what you are fixing, is if you think it won't make a major difference, OR, you're bad at PR.
I'm hoping it's the latter of the two.You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
Oh you don't really think putting "Subject to change" would make a difference do you? People would still whine and complain that the fix they wanted was left out even though we were told it would be in. No company releases patch fixes until it has gone through QA. Some might release info when it's in first party QA, but not too many, just in case there is a problem. Look at MW2. They never release any info until it's already out.
I don't like conspiracy theories, but the best logical reason for them not wanting to put out such a list is that either
A) they don't have confidence in their ability to patch this game.
or
B) they don't plan on fixing the major bugs, and realize that putting that information out there is going to keep customers from buying their game. I can easily see the major bugs going untouched because they are huge design flaws that I'm not sure a patch could fix.
Just tell me this, 2k! Did you fix errors and injuries? And did you make the pitching control more difficult? lol that's all I want to know right now. Throw me a bone.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
well I have sold my xbox version and kept my pc due to mods. other than that this game is done for me. too long and don't know why its such a secret to say what is being patched in the first place. I don't see anything wrong with telling your customers what is being worked on. to me support has been very bad and its sad we have to hear from 2k ronnie for any word on what is going on with the patch. I hope 2k loses its license and ea gets it. to imagine this game was released in march and we are now nearing may.
2K needs to be different, because they have not gained that trust at all.Comment

Just being left out in the dark like this is not really cool. Other companies might not release patch notes before it releases, but like I said, 2K needs to be different because of their track record with their MLB game.Comment

**Here are the preliminary patch notes. BE ADVISED that this is subject to change depending on testing and things might have to be taken out if it compromises the integrity of the game. This is not a final list and again, is subject to change**
Easy enough. If something doesn't make it in and people get mad, that's on them, and their reading comprehension should be called into question.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I have to agree with KingFelix. I have probably played a total of 2 games in the past month or so, waiting for the patch notes to be released so I can see if the game is even worth further time. Obviously, this Home Run Derby issue that is causing a snag in QA appears to be the only issue with the patch, so I don't see why they can't simply state the other fixes not related to the Home Run Derby.
Does anyone even CARE about the Home Run Derby anymore? If whatever fix they were trying to put into that mode is causing the patch to be compromised, and thus must be removed, SO BE IT. Just tell the fans the REMAINING fixes unrelated to the Derby so we can determine where we should go from here as gamers of this franchise.
I had some talks with Ron weeks ago regarding the status of the patch, and he told me that although at the time he did not have the patch notes, he had word from the developers that they were very happy with the fixes they were able to make, and apparently they made a "ton" of fixes. I was hoping this past week would be the period we would have seen the patch notes, but disappointingly that was not the case. I'm going to put confidence in 2K and Ron that this week we will finally get closure on the situation.Comment

Like I said, I'm giving myself until Friday. I have to draw the line with this franchise somewhere, or I'll be blowing 60$ every year.Comment
