It hasn't passed their own QA department. Once that's finally done it gets sent to the third parties which is normally a 2-3 week process. MS pushed through the last patch really quick as a favour. Sony doesn't work that way. The patch won't be out until the end of May and that's only if Sony and MS don't find a problem.

Well if that's the case then the patch notes better be out by this week or I think I'm going to salvage whatever remaining trade value I can get for the game and put it towards a more reliable, fully featured game.

Damn, if that's the case then I realize why people are getting upset about not having the patch notes. I thought it would only be a week or so before it would be released since the last patch came out pretty fast, and figured waiting a week really isn't that bad, but the end of may is.

I have the pc version and i have to say, the graphics while smooth could have been better..I havent experienced any issues that have kept me from enjoying the game or More importantly, COST ME A GAME..

My biggest complaint would be that hitting seems random... The cpu will pull balls to left field no matter where the pitch is located?? the pitching system is a good idea but i find that i miss some pitches because of the right stick action, practice might cure that. Not glitch related..

To me this game is a step forward in the series, (a step that should have been taken 2 yrs ago)

Yeah, I sort of felt the same way for a while. (Im 26, I remember when NES, SNES, and Sega games worked out of the box.)

But then again....

Games were a lot more simple in the 80's and 90's...

I remember thinking an 8-bit video game system was the height of technology. Now we have 600MB CD's on 120GB gaming systems.

I mean common man, you gotta admit it was a lot easier to bug test Donkey Kong than it is to bug test a modern game containing massive amounts of data and complicated algorithms.

Mario doesnt just jump up and down anymore, now he jumps in 360 different directions. Things are inherently more complicated now-a-days.

Take-Two + Rockstar = Excellent. How 2K Sports has been regulated in general as it pertains to their games = not so good. Maybe we should get Rockstar to develop for the MLB 2K franchise. Then maybe we'll get a higher-quality game from the start.

Well, they arent making yearly sports games, They have 3-5 years to make the game. Take a look at 2K games, they make some damned quality games as well. Bioshock, and 2, Civ. Boarderlands. So, ya.

I'm still pissed that I wasted my time with this game, but I'm just glad I got decent resell value on ebay.

Yeah, 2k is digging themselves a hole. It's bad enough that they have to compete with the other game, which is supposedly vastly superior to this one. But then you add in a patch that

we might get by opening day

we probably get by mid April

etc etc etc and we all sit around waiting.

Not to pile on, but here's one thing I really don't understand: Why have a twitter account where you can have free and constant updates if you don't use it to its full effectiveness by giving your consumers a better understanding of the issues/processes.

Obviously the guys working on the patch are working their @$$ off to get it done in time. They also know what issues they have attempted to correct. However, the last few updates we have received were prompted by Ron being asked a question. Here's an idea: You have free dialogue with your consumers and they will pull for you. When you give us as much information as possible it helps us sympathize with the work that is being done and helps stave off the negativity that grows by the day without any updates or patch notes.

They know there are serious issues with a number of areas in this game (AI Management, injuries, player progression, Amateur Draft, etc.) and they are obviously working to correct them. However, if there's an issue where they CAN'T fix something for some reason, it would be nice to be leveled with. There's obviously a good reason for the delay, for things being the way they are, and it would help to get the full story, again, to quell any negativity that is being bred here and across the net daily.

And what's with the secrecy on the patch notes? This isn't the effing CIA afterall. It's also not like they are releasing a new game and are keeping modes/changes close to their vest so competition can't one-up them. That I can understand, but the only harm of releasing patch notes early is accountability for their own work, which might make sense since it seems to be missing over at 2K with their last few releases.

Grow a pair 2k, give us the patch notes and level with us--honesty goes a long way.

Until it gets approved, I understand why won't release them. They release a list of 25 things they fixed and for some reason, something goes wrong in the approval process and that list of 25 shrinks to 23 or 24 and we never hear the end of people complaining that they were lied to about the one or two things that had to get knocked off the list for one reason or another.

What would be nice is if we got a list of:

At least this gives us an idea of what we can maybe expect and can definitely not expect. Some people will have their hopes up and then let down, but as long as they preface the list with the statement that says this list can change at any time, they cover their bases...and at that point, anyone that holds anything against them was forewarned.
