But what I've found when I just play for fun is that I'm still getting scores ranging from 11-4 to 3-1. The games play out in ways that mimic real baseball. Yes, if I drill down all of the stats, there are things that are not right. But playing MLB Today means that stats always look good, and the games are just fun.

Great post. The last few years I have taken the same approach to gaming. I am an old timer who goes back to the days of Atari. One day it occurred to me that even though the current generation of sports games are 100X better than what we had in the 80's and 90's, I am enjoying them far less.

So nowadays, I will still be disappointed in certain things. I'll post in wishlist threads. But after that I just try to enjoy what the game has to offer. I ask myself "If it were 1995, and this game fell into my lap, how much would I enjoy it?".

Patience guys... This patch will drop in due time and I believe will be worth it (though no doubt we'll find something to complain about).

If they fix problems with franchise, then I'd be completely happy with this game(well, there'd still be problems but I'd be able to enjoy it again). I have a lot of fun actually playing the game, but the messed up franchise is what has made me put down the game. I would agree with everyone saying this is a fun game, and I've actually gotten realistic play from the game, but I need a working franchise to be able to continue to play becuase I'm almost done with year 1 and I don't think I could enjoy playing year 2 if franchise was left the way it is now.

can you start a franchise or my player before the patch drops..and still have the patch be effective in that mode regardless of whether you're already halfway thru or not??

No.

Buying a game that I ultimately ended up unsatisfied with was a waste of money. That problem has been fixed.

This is a bit of a different situation.. I think we were talking about doing it in general... I see no issue with returning games... but returning games is sorta different from selling them back.. if you know what I mean.

For the record, I still have Fuzion Frenzy 2, Turning Point and The Jason Bourne Conspiracy on my shelf still... (technically my roomate bought the last two)

Hopefully they can let us keep the franchise and add the patch to it instead of restarting it.

This game is better but the fact still remains it was released with too much flaws. And the outfielders think they are in the game the bigs with their rocket arms. There are no errors and pitching is too easy. I think hitting is the best but overall this game needs to be beta tested by its consumers then released. 2k doesn't seem to know how baseball is played. Patch is a make or break for to keep the game.

I really find it hard to believe you guys bought the game and are so patient. Years ago I would have done the same. I refuse to give my money to any company that offer a below standard product. Maybe if more people did the same, flawed games wouldnt make it to the market. Just food for thought.

You know if the patch doesn't do it. Might bypass this one next year and stick with the show and pro yakyuu from japan. 2k. Should have spent that million on hiring guys who know how to produce a baseball game. Not sure know took a lesson from those guys at 3do. Best sim of baseball yet. Graphics suck but best game I have ever played

It's still a fun game. I played it a ton for a while. Unfortunately, franchise is pretty much unplayable. MLB Today is still a great mode, and this game has gotten a ton of play time from me. I'm just waiting on the patch to fix franchise.

For me the games better this year but it's annoying that it hasn't had the animation thing in.

It's weird to me. I bought this game the day it came out and have only played about 10 games total. But my issues don't seem to have anything to do with what other gamers are discussing. The only problems I experienced that had been mentioned were no errors (which personally isn't the end of the world as much as it is a minor nuisance), and the player of the game being the worst statistical performer of that particular game. I play as the Tigers and it seemed whoever went 0-4 would be player of the game, again more of a nuisance than anything.

My major issue was with something that only seems to happen to me: I can't hit. The only player on my team that does any damage is Miguel Cabrera, and he was absolutely unstoppable when I played. After the 10 games he was hitting like .600 with 12 HRs. No one else on my team could do anything, though. I played 2k9 and had no issue with hitting so it's just odd to me that I cannot get hits with anyone but Cabby, and he destroys everything.

My first series was against the royals and ironically the only pitcher I could hit was Greinke. Brian Bannister nearly no-hit me. The other pitcher gave up only 2 hits (both solo HR's to Cabrera).

I doubt this is something the patch will address since nobody else seems to be having this difficulty, so is there a particular slider set that most are using to get better results? or do i just suck at hitting...
