I had a similar situation where the CF planted his foot halfway up the wall and did a quick jump, but like your situation, he just kind of gave up half way through the animation because he wasn't close to it. Very cool stuff.

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
In my Orioles franchise, I'm in the middle of June and barely in first place (BoSox and Rays and nipping at my heels--and Yanks are in last) and Steve Phillips made a comment after seeing the standings that "No one before the season expected the Orioles to be in this situation leading the division at this point of the season, but you have to believe it, it's real."
Just awesome stuff. Really adds to the immersion factor.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
I was playing a afternoon game at fenway and watched it start out sunny, the shafows slowly creep in then evtnually take over the field. Also strike out a guy with a circle change and and on the replay it showed him holding the ball in the circle change gripe, thought it was pretty cool.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
last game I ripped a shot right down the 3B line, I thought it was fair, and apparently so did the fielder, as he fired over to first as the ump called it foul. I thought that was cool, that the fielder played it out and didn't automatically know that it was fair/foul.
Then I looked at the replay, and half the ball was definitely over the bag as it passed by (although it was damn close)... freaking ump, I got robbed! (The throw would have been wide of 1st).Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
Some little things...
- No home plate umpire wears his cap backwards! Bush league!
- Batting practice pitchers don't stand on top of the hill. They stand on a mat on the downard slope
- Felix Hernandez wears his cap askew!

Don't know if this was mentioned, but played a day game against the cubs and the shadows on the field midway through the game made the ball change into a grayish color to emulate the ball traveling through the shadow. Thought that was awesome!Last edited by JBH3; 03-17-2011, 06:53 AM.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
This!!!! last night i played a day game there and like in the 4th inning the ball started to disappear halfway to the plate cause of the shadow. i had to adjust myself. it actually had me focusing more on reading the pitch.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
The lighting for day/afternoon games in general is amazing.
Really love how its very bright at first, and then a few innings later you see the first shadows creeping into the stadium.
Somehow on my ps3 after lets say 5/6 innings everything looks much sharper, because there's less sunlight glaring in your face. Absolutley love that!!!Comment

How can you read what you can't see?Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
Well luckily the ball disappeared halfway to the plate for a split second then reappeared right before crossing the plate. i started making more solid contact on breaking balls that i knew were gonna cross the plate. plus i moved in closer to my tv.Comment

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"
I'm starting to notice a lot of the little animations that add a lot to the game.
I had a play where I just beat out a bunt for a base hit, and the runner looked over to the ump and pumped his fist when he saw that he was safe.
Another time I hit a frozen rope up the middle for a base hit, right at the umpire, and he ducked to get out of the way. It looked very realistic. All ties severed...Comment

And fastballs? I'll take a guess and say you can't hit fastballs. Don't you think it's a bit over-the-top to have hitting where you can't see the ball? You know, we are not baseball players in the major leagues, we are people playing a video game.Comment
