    more little stat things:

Simmed ahead a season to chek progress and how the league changed.

During a game they did the usual 'upcoming team schedule' and during the mention of the Yanks/Rays series, Thorne said, "The Rays and AL MVP Evan Longoria coming to town".

He had won it the previous year and they mentioned it!
    nice.

This is a "little thing" that can be fixed, but did anyone notice that some of the players that wear baggy pants all have there pants up to the shoes? Playing a game right now with the Yanks and Tex and Cano's pants are tight around their ankles.

Not sure what happened, but I know it wasn't like that before.

Had a close play @ 2nd trying to stretch a hit into a double. OF throw was offline, the 2nd baseman caught the ball, turned & dove towards the base trying to make the tag.

Ump calls me out, inning over..

Thats because if you have ever sit behind the place at a MLB game, every fly ball hit towards the outfield looks like it is going to be a HR off the bat.

I know that's what I mean it's a nice touch. It's not triggered by the CPU already "knowing" it's a HR.

The commentary after your first year is just plain awesome. Between the stat overlays comparing how the teams performed last year, to the small comments by the crew about the numbers against a certain team/pitcher the previous year. It's just incredible. Not to mention the comments about a player returning to play a team he was traded/signed from.

I agree, these little things stat wise are awesome.

But, the numbers against team/pitcher, sadly are not dynamic.

for example, say Heyward is 4-12 vs. Halladay and they mention that in year one, in year two, still 4-12.

same also applies to the Avg in April[or any other relevant month].

Say Texeira is 11-86 in April last year. it will say that in year one and all subsequent years.

Now I can't speak for the announcers versions, just the overlay ones.
But, i assume it applies to them as well.

Kind of annoying but ah well.

The good little stat things outweight the oversights.

                  I love:

                  Outstanding!

In my last game against (I forgot which catcher) I railroaded the catcher at homeplate with Michael Bourn and the ball popped loose upon collision with the catcher. I was safe but unfortunately Bourn got injured with a concussion and is out 2-4 weeks. The animation was awesome.

I had a play at the plate in which I stupidly sent my runner in a no win situation. He slid in and was clearly tagged out. But the ump signaled safe!

So I looked at the review, zoomed in on the tag, and sure enough the cather tagged the feet before they got to the plate. So I just thought, cool, missed calls are part of the game.

But then I let the rest of the replay play out, and saw the ball pop out of the mitt and roll away, which was blocked from my view by the ump when it happened in real time. It was pretty cool.

Today I had a more traditional play where my runner, pitcher Chris Carpenter of all people, tried to run over the catcher, but he failed to knock the ball loose.

Well Carpenter always seems to get angry during his starts, so it's believable

However, he would have destroyed the catcher IRL. When he gets angry on the mound, I'm glad he's on the pitcher's mound instead of in the box with a bat in his hand, because he just might kill someone

I know what you mean. He was frickin' incensed when the Nats 1st base coach accused him of hitting a batter on purpose during spring training. Apparently he put his uniform back on after the game and went out to find him.

In an interview he said that there was no reason to hit a guy in spring training. His comment was, "Why waste your bullets in an exhibition game?"

I love Carp. And he's always been great in the 2K games. I may go after the Million with him. But he pitches on the 31st, so I would have to get the game in right away at 11 pm CST to use him.

I will have to spend some time with default all-Star difficulty, as I have been playing with tweaked sliders. I threw seven shutout innings with him today, but had to pull him as he went over 90 pitches. He has some rough innings early, and threw 50 in the first three innings. but then he just started mowing guys down.

Between his fastball and 12-6 curve, he is deadly. I was just pitching to catcher's suggestions. But if I use IE and hammer away at a gameplan, I might get one with him.

Of course, this would require me to get off my butt and film it, so maybe not.

Yesterday I was the Tigers playing the Jays. Toronto batter hits a smoking low chopper up the middle. The 2B is going to his right to stop it, the ball hit's the mound which screws up his timing and it skips up in the air. The animation is awesome because the 2b has overrun it not knowing the ball would hit the mound. He STREEETCHES to his left at the last second while running right and barely snags it. His momentum is moving right so quickly that he makes an off balance throw that skips off the dirt but the 1b snags it to get him out on a bang bang play. What was cool is his animation when he overran the ball wasn't a canned animation, it was all real time physics.

Not sure if this is an impression or "little thing," but I just wanted to echo what others have said about the hitting:

The sensation you get hitting the ball squarely is sensational. I like how when you hit the ball a little off the sweet spot, the bat (or controller) rumbles depending on how badly you hit it. However, when you have a sweet stroke right on the sweet spot and rip it up the middle, there's no rumble, equaling the sensation of a real bat hitting a ball squarely.
When you rope one into the gap like that it is one of the most satisfying things in the game.

Irconically, I don't always get the same sensation on HRs, but I definitely do sometimes. For instance, when I'm looking for the high and inside fastball and am able to turn on it and yank it into the stands? Pure butter
