Wow, this is incredible that the shortstop tripped over the broken piece!!!! I've had a bat break but nothing like that.

Just ran across a situational comment in the commentary that I don't think I have heard in a sports game before--playing My Player as a pitcher for the Blue Jays, in Anaheim against the Angels. Vernon Wells comes to bat, and Thorne says something like "familiar face, different place", and references the fact that Wells was facing his old team for the first time! Little details like that really up the immersion factor....

Playing with the Tigers, Austin Jackson at bat. One of the commentators says whenever he sees Jackson at bat it always reminds him of that action figure, action Jackson. That really made me smile!

Besides that, maybe not a little thing but just something that shows how good this game is. I was up 3-1 against the Royals. My starting pitcher Penny is starting to fatigue. I could not take him off yet as i had forgotten to warm up some pitchers. I'm really noticing his fatigue, the pitch meter is going much faster, its much harder to throw strikes.
After every pitch i check my relievers status....still not warm.
So, after a 2-2 count i decide to throw just one more pitch before i pull my pitcher.....and BOOM, the Royals hit a home run with 2 men on base. 4-3 for the Royals. In the end i lost the game 8-5.

        Damn i love this game!

Re: MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"

Had a cool double error happen the other day. I hit a ball to the 2nd baseman on the Twins, and he mishandled it, causing the ball to squirt. Since he still had a bit of time, he tries to get over the ball and makes the play using a throwing/falling away from the bag animation. In his hurry, however, he sails it over the first baseman and I'm safe at first.

The ball riccochets back from the dugout and I can't advance, but my runner going from first was able to advance to third.

Very cool--looked very real. And I really liked that the CPU felt "rushed" and it caused an error. Very good 2K.

One cool thing I've noticed--and I'm not sure if this was in 2K10 or not, but the ball seems to have spin. It's especially noticeable on balls that are hit foul on the ground that hit the wall just beyond the dugout and the ball's backspin takes it back towards the wall on an arc. Very realistic looking.

When the third out happens on a fly ball, the outfielder's animations are awesome. They put a little leisure into the catch and start jogging back in non-chalantly. Again, very real looking.

I hit a bloop single right over the 2nd base bag and the ump had to duck to not to get hit by the ball, lol, Then hit a line drive to the first base side , the first baseman dives for the ball towards second base while on the ground he kinda gets up then back hands it to the pitcher covering first and I am out

                          ^^

That reminded my of a play that happened the other day. I was pitching and the batter hit a line drive right back a the pitcher, hitting him. The pitcher, somewhat stunned, falls forward and grabs the ball in front of the mound. Then while still falling down, I attempt to throw the runner out at first. Unfortunately the guy was safe, but a very cool play

Can stat overlays be considered a 'little thing'?

during my franchise [I don't need no stinkin' patches! lol] i saw a batter walk up for Marcus Thames that said 'tied for 13th in HR this year'.

                              13th!! lol

                              i love it.

in a scoreless game in the top of the 9th, McCann got on with 2 outs. Alex Gonzales hit into a forceout on the 1st pitch and McCann glared at Gonzales all the way back to the dugout.
