MLB 2K11 - "The Little Things"

Even though I may be new to this forum, I have been a lurker for many years. One thread that I enjoy reading after a game comes out are the "Little Things" threads. I know that MLB the Show has one, so I figured I would make one for MLB 2K11.

So let's hear it. What are some of the little things that you see in this game that make you think, "Wow. They actually thought to put that in there."

dugout player reactions to foul balls

Gary Throne actually says the name "Moustakas".
I think it's safe to say that "Moustakas" isn't a very common name.

Pitchers emotions are awesome! box scores now include the batters seasons average and not the game avg. on the player cards it tracks your pitchers pitch count for the last ten games or so!

Playing as Angels vs Royals. I took a little long to pitch and one of Royals batters backed out of the box (called time). The scorebar disappeared and I had to look in again for the pitch.

Today playing against the Pirates as the Yankees in my Franchise. Ball hit back at the pitcher, bounces off of leg, pitcher scrambles to get at the ball, fumbles it and dives to the ground and then throws to 1B off of one knee for a bang bang play.

The commentary talking about the little things from last season, from Tex's slow start in the beginning of the 2010 season to Kevin Longs adjustment of Curtis Granderson's swing.

The pitch count recommendation for pitchers when you pause it, where it shows total pitch count. Shows a range of 37-42 for example with Papelbon.

My favorite little thing so far is something I haven't seen in two yrs, a popup straight back behind home plate, and catcher camped under it to make the catch. :-)

The commentary is the best I've ever heard in a baseball game. It's the relevancy that astounds me.

Team players reacting to some dumb play I did, like get that guy off the team.

I'm with ya man. First one I saw... brought a tear to my eye. lol

Playing a ST game against Cincy earlier tonight. Gomes had been wearing me out going 3-3 with 3 legs of the cycle down, needing just a HR. As he's coming to the plate for his 4th AB, Thorne & Co. start talking about how he's got to be feeling the pressure with 3 legs of the cycle down etc... All of this going on as they replay his 3 previous hits.

The commentary & stat integration is 2nd to none in the 2K games.

Pitch by pitch replay where they mark the location of every pitch thrown that at-bat.

Playing my franchise Cardinals tonight against the Dodgers, Matt Kemp hit a hot shot to third base , my third baseman went to his right got the ball and threw low and off the bag to Pujols and he tagged him out before he got to first base, the replay showed the bang bang play with the tag, good stuff.

I mentioned this in the impressions thread, but playing in a play now game pirates(me) vs Yanks, A-Rod popped one up in foul territory, between home and third, Pedro Alvarez comes in and makes the play himself without me controlling him. This is cool to me because in past years if your controlling a player anywhere near the ball the cpu players will just stand around, this year they actually react and try to make a play

CPU just pulled their starter for a lefty/lefty matchup 2 out in the 6th. I let the scene play out & the pitcher slams the ball into the managers hand in disgust as he leaves the mound..

some players were wearing shades in the first inning, but by the second inning it was cloudy and they didn't have the shades on anymore. Not a big thing but still a nice touch.
