I had a complete game with Roy Halladay of the Phillies yesterday. I finished the game with a pitch count of 77 and only gave up 2 hits(ironically enough, it was Opening Day @ the Pirates in my franchise[opening day today for the phillies was @ pirates and Halladay only gave up 2 hits today but only went 8 innings]). But I was shocked at how little my pitch counts are. He also struck out 9.
I might have to lower Pitcher Fatigue

I bought the game today and have had fun playing it thus far. How well you hit really depends on timing and swinging at good pitches. If you start chasing pitches you're not going to score many runs.

This game definitely has a lot of potential. I've only played Exhibition games and a home run derby so I'm looking forward to seeing what other games modes like Franchise mode have to offer.

Last year on 2k11, my injured players on my franchise never healed. Players who were supposed to be hurt for 2 weeks and were placed on the 15 day DL would be hurt for months until I eventually just quit playing. Has this been fixed for 2k12?

              Re: MLB 2k12 - Impressions Thread (PS3/X360)

I went ahead and picked this up for 360 yesterday. My thoughts are as follows:

              Pros

              - Commentary is just incredible
              - Stats, stats, and more stats!
              - Great atmosphere; crowd sounds, stadium ambiance, cloud coverage in the sky, etc
              - Pitching, and the risk/reward aspect of fielding
              - MLB Today (the main reason I picked this up)
              - Menu music
              - Signature animations, especially for pitchers
              - Lighting and player models

              Cons

              - Graphics overall. While there are some areas that look very good, a game this far into current gen should look a lot better
              - Animations. Again, there are good, even great ones, but the transitions can be almost laugh outloud bad at times, and there are still some of those lingering "2k animations" present
              - Hitting. It's just not as good as the rest of the game. It really lacks that "feel", for lack of a better term
              - Where is the player life/interaction? I still see the same fist pump reaction for scoring a run... and that's it.. no high-fives, chest bumps, etc. There just needs to be more going on between plays

              Overall

I really hope 2k stays in the game. Choice is always good, and if they can somehow get the graphics and gameplay up to snuff with the presentation... holy cow.

I have no problem giving this game a 7/10, and while it won't be my go-to title, I'm really glad I picked it up for a change of pace and MLB Today. I defintely don't think 360 owners should be upset about this being their only option this year.

Good impressions, and pretty much sums up my feeling on the game.

The lack of player emotion is annoying, especially when something dramatic like a walk-off hit happens; players just stand there and do nothing. Not sure why this was left out when player emotion is something 2K does pretty well in its NBA series.

if we had the graphics in 2k from pro baseball spirits game along with some different hitting options it would be a top baseball game

Keep coming back to this game. Just love the player models. I get so bored of the show. Def gonna play both games this year.

I picked 2k12 up a week ago for PS3 and I must say that i've been pleasantly surprised by how much fun i've been having. Sure, the graphics aren't perfect, and one thing that bugs me are the random generic faces for current MLB players, but the gameplay sure is addicting.

Improvements from over the years to now.Im including mlb 2k6 and mlb 2k7. I dont have mlb 2k2011. so here is what I see
                        1. Pitching is way better and faster then before
2.Hitting you can have more control over where you hit it
3.Commentry is better and they dont always say the same old stuff for every player like in the past

4.the crowd is in 3rd now and way better then 2d. and they actually all move and catch the ball and throwing the ball back

the things I thing are the same in a way
                        1. The franchise mode just seems blah and not really exciting.

I wrecked my copy of 2k12. I've been having a blast with this game and now I go and do something dumb like scratch the disk.

Going to have to replace it this weekend.

Not trying to rub salt in your wound but did you get that $3.00 insurance that protects against anything that happens to the disk? If not I recommend it. I always, ALWAYS purchase this for any game that I buy and it has come in handy many times.

Btw, this has no affect on anything, but gray, cloudy day games are the BEST in this title. No one does cloudy skies like 2k. Really adds to the immersion.
