Francisco is rated like 72 so didnt rly want him. Seager is a solid option but is around 60/low 70s in batting stats so thats not quite good enough. Gordon is solid but is LF and his RF Defense isnt that great, so I kind of put him on the back burner for now. Headley is rated like 92 lol and hes untouchable for the Padres in my Dynasty ( I offered Bau/Lawrie to see if there was any way, and the trade interest didnt move lol) Frazier is interesting for sure I will consider him, and also I like Willingham hes an option, but the Twins Rotation is brutal. Alvarez has solid power, but his contact sucks in the game and I dont really like any Pirates SP.

    - Some names I looked at in terms of a bat were Ryan Zimmerman, Beltran, Holliday, Hunter Pence, Prado, Markakias, Justin Upton, Willingham, Middlebrooks, Frazier but that list just makes my headache and I have no clue where to go. Anyone have any feedback on this list (+ SP's of course) or if Im missing anyone?
OK, well you mentioned that you weren't really interested in "maintaining realism" so that opens up a lot, and Lawrie is young and has a high rating. He should be in demand.

I think a 3B would be the best fit for you since Bautista is probably (or should be anyway) rated more highly in RF. So, guys like Prado, Middlebrooks, Zimmerman, and Frazier would probably be best. Of those Zimmerman is probably the most powerful. Prado and Frazier are both really nice since they play a bunch of positions. Prado is also really nice since he is great at contact. Middlebrooks is more balanced but only plays 3rd.

If you have to go OF, Willingham is probably the best power threat out there you can get easily. But there's not much pitching there.

And to break any ties, you could always see which pitcher you want the most. Which team of Red Sox, D'Backs, Reds, Nats has the 4th/5th starter you like best?

    Middlebrooks + Buchholtz
    Prado + Cahill
    Frazier + Bailey or Leake
    Zimmerman + Haren

Those looks like possible returns for Lawrie and Romero.

Wow that package of Zimmerman and haren could put me over the top but wow what a salary I would take on even though that don't bother me. Zimmerman I like because he had solid contact and power which is nice. Prado would be my 2nd best since I could grab beachy or minor with him. Middlebrooks is solid but dam Red Sox are 2 games back of me so would want to avoid dealing him to anyone in the AL East. Thanks alot for the feedback and if you or anyone else has any more feedback feel free to post. Ill be on tomorrow and ill check out the options when I fire up the Xbox. Thanks again appreciate it if you need any help in the future inbox me and ill help ya out

Well got Zimmerman/Haren for the duo and 1st game, Zimmerman 3/4 2 lead off doubles then a grand slam to put me ahead 7-3 in a tie game...NICE

Game one in the books with the New AL West team - Houston
Pretty impressed with my results - using BIGS sliders.

Bud Norris made his way through a very good slugging rangers team. 7.0 IP, 6 Ks, 1 BB.
With an early 2-0 lead off of Darvish into the 6th, I was able to get some good wood on pitches. Kinsler smashed one into CF and not knowing how to play the ball in Minute Maid Park, I missed the catch with Justin Maxwell as it rolled up the hill. An inside the parker, but I felt pretty ok that i could get back in the game if i just hung in there.

Chris Carter showed off some of his power with a dinger over the right field wall.
Jose Altuve solid game 1 performance 2-3, 2b Brett Wallace ended up with a 2 bagger and the new addition Matt Dominguez played a great 3rd base, a drove in a RBI.
A 4-4 tie Norris left because of PC - Beltre belted in a RBI in the 9th to go ahead 5-4.

I think i'm going to have some fun with this team - maybe win more then 50 games.

Started My H-town Chise last night.. Well 0-2 lost a close game in the opener and got smashed 17-3 in the 2nd game. My only offense in game 2 was 2 homeruns by Wallace.

Lost Marwin Gonzalez , and Justin Maxwell to injury so I hope Cedeno and Ankiel can step in.

I am playing with BigJoes sliders and I just need to get a hang of it. Gonna try and edit all my minlor league top 20 prospects tonight to match where they are at. Gonna be fun.

Seems like a lot of people are playing with the worst team in Houston so the hipster in me decided to buck that trend and pick the 2nd worst in the Cubbies.

Right after spring concluded Toronto stupidly offered me Bonifacio and Encarnacion for a bunch of scrubs so I bit then traded Rizzo for some pitching help (got Tommy Hanson). Won first game 6-5 Marmol is actually really good. Lost 2nd game 3-4 because Pedro Alvarez ripped Garza a new one. Castro is on fire though that kid is a beast.

Yeah, lots of Astros 'chisers. I like to think I started mine before it became the cool thing to do. I'm a little surprised there aren't more Padres/Twins/Marlins/Rockies franchises being talked about.

So, you ripped off TOR...at least you balanced it out by allowing the Angels to rip you off for Rizzo.

Yeah I took a lesser pitcher than some of my other options on that Rizzo trade but I like Hanson in real life (I'm an Atlanta Braves fanboy wish they didn't dump him) so it was a no brainer for me. Plus something about that arrow pointing straight up in the potential rating makes me all tingly lol.

I decided to play the Newest team In AL west - Astros because I play the Angels every year and they are to good. I want a team i can build and try to knock off my Halo's...even in feel MLB I think the Angels are going to WS this year! So I'm playing them in my MLB Today Season Mode.

Game 2 - OMG -TEXAS is just wearing my Stros out, ripping out 12 hits and 10 runs.
Lucus had an ok game. 7K's, but gave up some runs in the process. Ogando is just plain nasty with complete game 3 hitter and to top it off, the bats of the Rangers are letting me know whos top in the AL west. David Murphy is a hitting machine, Lance rubbed in the Astros face with a 2run shot - Kinsler is just eating my staff and spitting them out and now Beltre sealed the deal with a 2 run shot in the top of 8th.

I think is time to evaluate my team. The is no power, I need a bat and FA Carlos Lee "El Caballo still out there. Thinking about bring him back for one last push as DH. My rotation is ok with 1 and 2 - 3 4 5 is a yet to be seen.

Only 2 games in and no offense at all.
This is going be a long season for what i'm seeing early.

I'm sticking with Bigs Sliders as I enjoy what they bring to the game. - I'm getting all kinds of hits and a HR so far, just need to be more patient at the plate and work the count.

Hey guys, I just got this game and I am enjoying it. I'm going to start a franchise but I don't want to start with a top team like the Yankees or whatever. I want to start an underdog and bring them to the championship. (The last time I started a Yankees franchise, it takes the fun out of trading and getting players, because every damn player on that team is good. it would seriously take me some time to complete a trade.)

I really don't have a favorite team, I don't really watch baseball irl but I enjoy MLB games for some reason.

I was thinking either the Cubs, Astros, A's, or any other suggestions.

My league will be 162 games, no regular season games will be simmed. I usually do a few Spring training games, but I cringe every time I make a good play in spring training because its not regular season, and it doesn't matter much xD

                            Any suggestions?

Just wondering what you guys are doing for settings. Are you automating anything (trades, budget, minor leagues for example) or doing it all yourselves?

It seems rather complex and I'm wondering how good the cpu is at managing some aspects of my organization before I start my franchise.

What should I do myself and what should I set to automatic?

                                Any input would be appreciated.
