What should I do myself and what should I set to automatic?

      Any input would be appreciated.
I do everything myself. The CPU really goofs up lineups and rotations. I set all my lineups and rotations down through all levels of the minors. However, I don't play any of the minors games.

Wow. Was coasting against a few bottom feeders such as the M's and the Tribe (lol at me calling other teams bottom feeders when 'chising with the Astros) and was starting to think my sliders were, maybe, (gasp) getting a bit easy for me after taking another series from Seattle 2 games to 1. Record was at 12-9 nearing the end of April.

Then took a 4-game trip to Fenway and just got absolutely hammered and abused by Boston. That lineup was sick, playing pepper with the Green Monster and 2 HR games from Ortiz and Napoli in separate games. Pedroia hit about .500 and Ellsbury was an extra base hit machine, and cleared the Monster with an oppo field shot. I was actually in the 4th game, but their lineup ate my setup man and turned an 8th inning 2-1 edge into a 2-3 defeat. Ended up getting swept losing all 4 games! The Red Sox were like . And I was like . Lost one game 13-0 even. Now my record is 12-13, and currently on a 5-game losing streak heading to Yankee Stadium. The schedule does not look very welcoming with Yankees, Tigers, Rangers, Angels, and more Tigers coming up. Glad to be done with the Bo Sox though, geez...Can't wait to play Seattle again, lol.

Ok that's what I was doing except switched Hamilton an Braun, and Butler and Zimmerman to create R and L match ups. Here is my pitching, SP1-Loshe, SP2-Kennedy, SP3-Beachy, SP4-Pineda, SP5-Estrada. Bullpen- Motte, Jansen, Storen, Gregerson, Collins, Pomeranz, and Hand. The overalls are different than my original post sorry.

I started one with the Braves, and every time I sim through spring training to play opening day, the CPU has the worst logic for a starting lineup. Chase Utley plays 3rd while Michael Young's on the bench, and a bench player is playing 2nd.

Does anyone have a fix for this other than controlling all 30 teams in Franchise? It's really bugging me.

So, I'm looking pretty good to start the season. We started out in New York and gave up a hert breaking walk off HR to the Yanks and lost the game 5-3, Loshe Kd up 9 and the bullpen blew a 3-1 lead! We pounded the Yanks in with 2 wins a row 5-2 and 8-1, with solid starts from Beachy and Kennedy. We just killed the Jays in their opener 8-1 and ruined their fun! Pineda went 8 strong and Kd up 12! Hamilton has 5 HRs with 13RBIs! All of my SPs look good and Collins and Storen have been lights out. More to come tomorrow!

Yeah, there's a workaround that doesn't involve maintaining control of 30 teams, but it involves a decent initial investment of time (a few hours). What I did was go through each team's depth chart at the beginning of my 'chise and note any weird things about guys playing out of position or other star guys getting buried on the depth chart.

Having my list, I then (with edit CPU rosters on) tweaked the players' positional abilities by editing the players. One example is with the Justin Upton trade, the CPU didn't know to shift him to LF and play Heyward in RF. So, I increased Upton's LF ability and decreased his RF ability and the CPU finally shifted him to LF. The issue with this is it does take a decent amount of time since you can't really predict how low/high you have to change the ratings to in order for the CPU to make changes.

However, it's nice because once these guys have been permanently edited, the CPU doesn't make the same roster mistakes as before, which is worth it imo.

Actually it's not working. I'm at the very beginning of my chise, haven't simulated spring training yet. I edited Utley's 3B ability to 0, his 2B at 100. Michael Young's 3B is at 100, and Freddy Galvis's 2B is at 0. On the depth chart, it still has Utley starting at third, Galvis starting at second, and Young on the bench. Maybe if I sim through spring training with the new ratings it will finally make the switch? I wish 2k would just let you manually adjust each team's depth chart.

Check their lineups too. I've seen it where the depth chart doesn't match the lineup, but the lineup really tells you who they're starting. Depth chart is 90% accurate or so. Hope it helps...it's worked great for me so far.

Talk about lineup problems, ill give you lineup problems. The Sox come rolling off an 8-1 win and put together another blowout by the score 13-1. Estrada went 9 strong giving up only 5 hits. As the offense explodes player's stats-

Braun 2 HR and 6 RBI
Hamilton 2 HR and 2 RBI

A total of 6 SBs and 4 HRs!

Re: MLB 2K13: The Franchise Mode Thread

Got on a roll of playing games over about the past week or so and really made some nice progress in my 'chise.

Through early May, my Houston Astros 'chise is 15-14 still in 2nd place in the AL West. I am still trailing Texas by 3.5 games for the division lead, and have benefitted from poor starts by Oakland and Seattle (I helped the M's out there too, lol).

It's getting to the point of the season where people are thinking "why are the Astros still hovering around .500 still?" Will they actually lose 100 games again? Could it have been a month-long fluke? Those questions can only be answered deeper into the 'chise. But it poses an interesting dilemma...would HOU hold onto vets like Carlos Pena, Erik Bedard, Phil Humber, Brendan Ryan, and Kyle McClellan? Or, would they sell anyway thinking it was fools gold?

Most recent results have me finally snapping a 6-game skid, one game against the M's then a 4-game sweep at Boston, followed by dropping the series opener against the Yankees. With things looking grim, the team managed to rally in winning 3-straight 1-run games over NYY (twice: 2-1, and 8-7) and home against the Tigers (4-3). Interestingly, the losing streak stopped in Jose Altuve's 1st game back from the DL (back issues after a C.J. Wilson beaning) although he went 0-4. 3 more games coming up against the Tigers with their getaway day starter being Justin Verlander...so not looking forward to that.

                                Some early musings....

Note to self, I can't get the following guys out:

Robinson Cano, Miguel Cabrera, Dustin Pedroia, David Ortiz, Jose Bautista, Kendry Morales

                                Maybe stop pitching to them.

                                Have been having trouble hitting:

Brett Anderson, Michael Pineda, Franklin Morales, Jon Lester, Jered Weaver

                                Have been feasting off of:

Joe Blanton, Felix Hernandez (not a typo, 6 ER in 3+ IP), Phil Hughes

Seem to be struggling in day games and to some extent with lefty pitchers.

Robinson Cano has 14 HR in early May (!!!) is slugging over .700. Beast Mode.

                                Veteran Stock Watch

One of the things I am most interested in is seeing if vets on the team can get hot and fetch me something nice in June/July. Although both Humber and Bedard started horrible, they won in back-to-back games with Bedard going 8 IP/3 ER and Humber going 6.1 IP/3 ER. So ERA's still over 6 for both, but maybe getting some momentum with a QS a piece.

Brendan Ryan got his first HR of the season, but is still mired in the .130 - .150 range. Yuck. Ronny Cedeno getting more PT, and signed Chone Figgins as cheap IF depth. Jake Elmore and Delino DeShields Jr. both a phone call away in AAA.

Kyle McClellan a perfect 11 for 11 in SV opps and actually just gave up his 1st hit of the year in his 11th SV chance. Looks like good money to be dealt. Just signed Takashi Saito in case...Was actually considering Brad Lidge (LOL) old ties run deep.

Carlos Pena, after a somewhat hot start with 4 HRs and a couple of triples, has cooled off massively and is hitting .180. .220 I can work with...

                                Lineups etc..

Thomas Neal really slumping after a torrid start to the season with a walk off HR. Been slumping so bad that he's played himself into a true platoon with fellow rookie, and UTIL Ryan Wheeler in RF.

                                Minor Leagues

Finished creating selected top prospects, about the top 120 or so in MLB, and also several in the HOU system. Jarred Cosart, Mike Foltynewicz, Lance McCullers Jr., Delino DeShields Jr., George Springer, Jonathan Singleton, Carlos Correa, Max Stassi, Brad Peacock, Nick Tropeano, Robbie Grossman, and Rio Ruiz. A couple of those guys could be in Houston sooner rather than later.

For the MLB-wide prospects, here's the best of the best ratings-wise (all > 75):

                                Heath Hembree 79 OVR (SF)
                                Gerrit Cole 79 OVR (PIT)
                                Michael Wacha 77 OVR (STL)
