Re: Two long time reviewers give their take on ESPN

I just tried multiple times to reproduce this in a real game situation, and it does not happen.

Which is odd, you would assume Situation uses the same logic as in-game logic.

Re: Two long time reviewers give their take on ESPN

I try to bite my lip on this in both football and baseball forums but until someone gets the proper KSAs and puts their team together then finally creates their own game and can present a timeline of how each individual's day is spent, please stop talking about what could happen if something was removed or how a glitch was overlooked b/c they were focused on something else. No, the running in ESPNFL is not faulty b/c of the addition of the crib. No, the lack of ingame saves is not due to First Person Football. And finally, NO, adding FPM in ESPN MLB is not the reason for any of the other problems anyone is having in the game.

I pick this thread to finally explode on this b/c whoever posted that is obviously clueless. The idea is something many gamers have wanted for years... maybe you're not old enough to realize that. Without even seeing it I can imagine the first time effort is flawed however can be tweaked in years to come and may eventually be THE way of playing. Maybe then you'll be an adult (or at least act like one) and will appreciate the effort and time it took to perfect. Maybe not, but at the very least maybe you'll see that they can get a lot of other stuff done AND do that too.

Bill did a great job catching some of the issues in MVP, like leftys not hitting the ball as far, simmed player progression, etc.

Is this article concerning the bugs that seem to be cropping up in ESPN? Counts resetting? Runs scoring on a third out? Maybe he has fixes - I'd like to see what he has to say on that - I'll check it later.

...anyway, i haven't been able to replicate the 3rd out "bug" in a regular game. Runs don't score on third outs. I haven't had any counts reset either, and i have played ALOT of games since it came out. Frankly, i'm gonna go on the record as saying that the resetting counts report is BS, and the third run thing is situation mode-specific.

Maybe there is some confusion on the run scoring on the third out. Does the run score after the out is recorded or just before b/c if it's before the run does count. I don't remember if anyone stated exactly what the situation was. I just know that in real life baseball if there is a guy on third and you hit a grounder, if the guy on 3rd crosses the plate before the out is recorded it counts obviously if its a fly ball the run will not count.
