    This is good news. I sold my espn baseball it just was not fluid enough for me. Animations to choppy and repetitive. i like how 989 mlb sports game swings their bats and animations when turning plays in the defensive field. I hope for the best for the next espn MLB game.

        It's good to see someone else taking over the title, but they better take their time because EA has a gem in MVP Baseball. Hey Kush....GAMEPLAY is the most important feature.

            gameplay doesnt win the general public over if the game is ugly. ask high heat baseball. oh you cant. they are out of business.

            games sell to the general public because of (in this order):
            1) brand name familiarity;
            2) brand name familiarity; 2a) brand name familiarity;
            3) graphics;
            4) price;
            5) my friend wont let me borrow it;
            99) gameplay.

            mvp is not here because triple play wasnt selling. it is here because after several years of bad games they were in danger of slipping to 2nd or 3rd.

            it takes a long while for the public to change loyalties. the espn price drop is designed to cut a few years off the loyalty change.

                3do did not go out of business because of High Heat. High Heat was the least of their problems.

                        hey guys this is my first post in the espn forum. i was a huge asb fan, unfortunatly that games days are done. i heard on that forum that kush was taking over espn. i just wanted you all to know that in my opinion yopu all should be very optimistic. kush has done a tremendous job with its colege hoops, nba, and nhl games. in fact i consider each of those the top in their sub-genre. i'm excited. now if kush would only sign asb_man, you should move from optimism to excitement...

                            Kush did not do the NBA game, but everything else sounds pretty good.

                                the point of the matter is this:

                                if gameplay was all that mattered then espn should have been commended by reviewers and the general public for fixing the gameplay issues from the previous year and not worrying about the graphics. they weren't. it dropped every reveiw score by a 1/2 point or more for that. nor did people rush out the doors to buy the game.

                                if gameplay was all that mattered, then you would not have 500 i am quitting because of the swing animation posts. 500 i am quitting because of the faces are wrong posts. and this is from the supposed hard core players.

                                high heat was avoided by tons of people because it was not as pretty as other games, it was too hard and it was not named triple play.

                                i was the only one who played it out of a large circle of friends. the rest would look and say its ugly, the players look constipated. they never even gave it a chance. one friend said it played like real baseball, but he still liked triple play because the graphics were cooler.

                                so if gameplay only mattered, high heat would be alive and well and the best baseball game available.
