Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
i see you're using zone pitching...using payoff pitching allows me put crazy breaks and movement on pitches (i.e., allowing the circle to get really small, then let it open back up just a bit to throw 12/6 curves from the chest to the dirt..anyway, does zone 1 allow for this control?Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
I like the 0, 40, 100 combo better because I can actually get 1-3 strikeouts with my pitchers. The 100, 50, 50 combo it's almost impossible with the staff I use. I mean I can throw a pitch almost in the dugout with the 100, 50, 50 set and they still make contact. I had it at 100, 40, 50 before, but I got too good at pitching and the AI wasn't producing much. At 0, 40, 100, they tend to both strikeout and produce runs.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Guys I really suggest trying 100/45/50 in the AI SKILL/CONTACT/POWER department. This works VERY well. You will get K's, you will give up runs, everything is realistic.
Highheat, your post just above this one hits it right on the nail why 100/45/50 is perfect. You just said that at 100/50/50 it's impossible to strike out the computer. Completely correct. I was getting 2 K's a game, so I went to 100/40/50, just like you did. What happened? Exactly what you said, the pitching was too good and K's shot up to 10 a game.
So I went right in between at 100/45/50. This has truly given me perfect results. 6 K's a game, 4-5 CPU runs a game, truly great results. If you trust the realism of the gameplay provided in the other slider setting suggestions I have posted throughout this thread, I really sugggest you give this recommendation a try. There are others throughout this thread who have backed up that this setting is as close to perfect as we will achieve. Give it a try:
AI SKILL: 100
AI CONTACT: 45
AI POWER: 50
It's imperitive that AI Contact is at 45, not 50 like many of you have suggested in recent posts. 45 gives perfect ammount of strikeouts on the aggregate over a large numbers of user-games played.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Are both these AI Hitting Slider Setting(0-40-100/100-45-50) in conjunction with INSIDE EDGE being -ON for both Pitching & Hitting?Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Precisely why I do not suggest turning Power up really high. In 57 franchise games, I have averaged giving up 1.2 HR's per game with these settings.Comment

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
Thanks for the feedback. So on average you think the cpu scores more runs with the 0,40,100. That's what I'm looking for. I want the cpu offense to be potent. I would have thought with the cpu skill at 100 it would be more potent but it sounds like you and xcell agree that raising the power is the way to go...I'm also worried that the power at 100 would make the cpu hit a ton of HRs but it doesn't sound that way. I will go ahead and try these settings tonight and compare the difference to my 100,50,50. I hope these turn out great.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**
I can tell you this. With using Zone Pitching, if I miss the pitch, 9/10 times it's going to get hit pretty dang hard. Not always over the fence either. Most of the runs I'm seeing are coming off of singles, doubles, and the occasional triple. I'm still giving up 1-2 homers a game, mostly because my Orioles staff sucks. I still miss my mark 5-8 times a game and I pay for it dearly. nnng's idea with the 100/45/50 looks intriguing also, so I'll give that a try later on as well to see which one I prefer, but X-Cell explained it pretty well with having to work the zone and stuff and the AI hitters looking towards that next pitch and being fooled if you throw what they aren't expecting. I like that.
My latest game using the 100/40/50 was
Phillies (HUM) 2r 10h 1e
Nats (CPU) 5 r 11h 0e
CPU had 0 hr, 2 doubles, 1 triple
I struck out the CPU 5 times.Comment
