Re: Creating **The 'PERFECT' Slider Set**

To answer the three questions posed above:

I use the St. Cardinals. I've scored 281 runs in those game, and my record is 27-30 (6 blown saves by Isringhausen already so I'm gonna have to upgrade).

I generally do not use inside edge, but if I do it's almost always for the opposing starting pitcher, just so I know his repetoire and pitch tendency. I hardly ever purchase the inside edge on oposing hitters as I do not really find it to help my pitching approach much.

I don't want to hijack this forum out of respect to X-Cell and nnng, they have done all the work, mine are just various tweaks of theirs and a few house rules of my own. I'll answer your question, then if anyone needs some input, please PM me or start another thread. I've gone deep two to three times with only using the release tactic. But, in return, the AI throws 4-5 meat pitches a game, it's up to me to capitalize on them, if I don't, it's my mistakes, I don't feel like I should be able to make up for them by using the pull and push tactic all the time.

Im not sure what to keep the ai skill at. I have tried skill at 90, contact and power at 50 and 55. I wasnt getting enough ks, but i hate to mess with it because the cpu is finally hitting decent. Now i have tried to use ai skill at 65, contact and power at 60 and 65. Im getting more ks now but cpu isnt hitting as well. Im trying to find a medium.

hey nnng07... did you ever figure out a way to get the CPU to not throw down the middle in a 3-0 count (or at least not that much)?

For the first time ever that didnt happen to me today...3-0 and the AI threw a wild pitch, so it was a 4 pitch walk technically, but not in the real sense of 4 balls if you get me.

Doubt it will ever happen again.

I got a 4 pitch walk once...heck now I don't remember who I was playing. Other than that ....right down the middle every time.

so you've got two guys on pace to hit well over 150 home runs?

i thought we were taking about the "perfect" sliders here? that's why this game sucks...nobody can come up with a formula that works.

Nice that you can read and make logic... When you face the Devil Rays for 33% of your total games, it's not hard to make some of your players look like God. I promise you those numbers will drop when we start facing some kind of quality pitching.
