I still have not had the cpu attempt a stolen base, but.......it did try a suicide squeeze against me! The dodgers had Pierre at the plate and I can't remember who was on third, but sure enough Pierre squared around and thankfully my release was off and I missed the zone. Runner dead at the plate. I was so not expecting to see that, ever.

What's up everybody. It looks like my 1st post is now un-editable. I have been reading all the comment since the last update. With that being said may I suggest the following Slider tweaks:

Human Power: Raise no more than 10 clicks. Leave @ default)
Step Influence: Leave as is. Decrease no more than 15 clicks

IF/OF Reaction Speed: Leave as is. Raise no more than 10 clicks
Total Control Pitching: Decrease by 25 clicks. (60) Decrease no more than 35 clicks
Pitch Speed: Leave as is. Decrease no more than 20 clicks
AI General Options

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
The Total Control Slider before the change was @ 20. It is now set to 60. Again these sliders are more a starting point for people than an end-point. You are free to tweak them as you see fit.
Glad to see/hear people are enjoying the game & making tweaks as they see necessary.
Thanks again!Comment

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
Joe, if understand you correctly, total control slider should be set at 60? If so, then I think your first page sliders may be incorrect. You say to leave this slider at default, but default for legend is 85, not 60. Am I missing something? Maybe you can post the sliders again as you did before with the total # of clicks so we can be sure we have them set right.
Thanks again!
Here are the default Legend Settings. These may be OFF by 2-3 clicks either way. They are the most accurate I could get, without going

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
Well, when I hit RB to reset everything and go to legend, I still see total control pitching at 85. Someone else posted earlier what they found to be the sliders for legend and even they had 85. This is odd that we're seeing different things. If in fact you are seeing 70, that's still 10 higher than 60. Just trying to make sure everyone gets accurate sliders, because at 60 instead of 85, I am getting great results.

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
TCP slider is totally dependent on the person playing the game IMO. You should set it as high as you possibly can stand it. Too low and you make too many perfect pitches, too high and you'll get shelled. Finding what's right for you and you alone is what this slider should be set at.Steam: BahnzoComment

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
Can anyone help me figure out why I can't hit Home Runs on any level above Pro?
I have practiced in HR Derby and do fine, but simply can't hit them during games. I get plenty of singles through the infield, but have absolutely no power.Last edited by wesley2121; 03-16-2008, 10:36 PM.Comment

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
In my opinion it all has to do with the step timing. When I am hitting on this game I watch to make sure I am stepping at the right time. I worry about this almost as much as hitting the ball. Try taking your step influence down a little bit more and try that out, whatever you do though don't touch the power, you will start hitting way too many homers if you do.Comment

Re: The OS Breakdown of the 2K Slider Theory
Ckhose whats your opinion on Skill/Contact/Power and Step for Human......mine is as follows
Skill-50
Contact-25
Power-45
Step-15
btw i have some pretty good sliders and used alot form poker and joe, I tested so many games out and they played so very well....I start my franchise with the Mets, now mind you i start off against Florida and throw Pedro and Johan.... They get hit pretty bad, my offense foes to the poops and i drop my first 3 games, lol.....good thing i tested these for so long lol, hope its just a beggining season slumpComment
