I'm seeing a lot of extra base hits too, for the human settings more than the AI. In my last game, I had 9 hits (2 singles, 4 doubles and 3 HRs). I've been seeing this trend a little. I lowered the human contact by 5, but I might try to lower human skill by 5 or so.

Re: DanSF49's Bad Back Opening Day Sliders
Guys if you start to have problems with getting to many extra base hits or HRs, start by upping the Step Influence by increments of 5 first, then if you still are seeing to many I would start to bring down the Batting Skill by increments of 5. I wouldn't really mess with the Contact slider because in my testing I found that with it at 35 it gave the best balance of swings and misses and also being able to get to some outside pitches but not all of them.Comment

Re: DanSF49's Bad Back Opening Day Sliders
Been reading this and the other slider threads on here, and I've tried them all, but this one seem to be the most enjoyable. A week ago, I threw a perfect game with Ben Sheets against Pittsburgh, although I was still having trouble hitting. Now with the new slider set, I'm seeing an increase in the realism of hits, and most importantly, a dramatic decrease in the number of pop-ups.
Good job on sliders, now we just need to start playing with the franchise progression sliders, and this game will rock!Comment

Re: DanSF49's Bad Back Opening Day Sliders
If you guys are still having problems with the you or the AI hitting alot of gappers you can try switching the Batting Skill and Contact sliders. Now we have it at Skill-50, Contact -35, try Skill-35, Contact 50. I will test this also later today. The higher the skill the more shots that are hit into the gap maybe 50 is leaning a little to much towards gap shots. I'm not seeing anything that is unrealistic now with the current settings but I will try this out.Comment

Re: DanSF49's Bad Back Opening Day Sliders
I'm liking these sliders as well, my one issue is that every outing the CPU is getting 15 hits a game. Now it's a toss up as to what the final score is going to be but 15 hits a game seems too high. I don't think I've had a 1-2-3 inning yet with these sliders in 5 games.
Otherwise, excellent job.
Oh and HR wise I've had 2 for cpu and 3 for me in 5 games.RIP #21

Goons, keep playing with these and that will change. I had that happening to me for the first few games I played with this new set and I was about to change things, then all of the sudden I started to be able to hold the AI down pretty well. You will see those type of games pop up here and there but thats what makes this slider set so good. The randomness of each game is great.Comment

Well I'm going to need you to give me some feedback with these new ones and then I can tell you what you might have to change since you are patchless.Comment

How much of an impact do you think the new baserunning changes will have? I ask because in a game last night I had a grounder hit to Zimm playing 3rd with a runner on 3rd, he threw a strike to homeplate and it was still a fairly close play but I got him out. In the same game Austin Kearns threw a strike (one hop) to home from right field on a tagging runner and it was still a close play (as it should be it was Jim Edmonds). I'd never had either of these happen before your 2nd sliders and am hoping changing the baserunning speed to 65 won't negate these plays....RIP #21

I shall. I forgot to mention part of it is probably my own pitching....you're right though the different types of games have been great.
