Just as a note, pitcher stamina set at 35 equals one energy point per pitch.
So for example, after 95 pitches you will have 5 energy.

quick question to anyone using these

i'm not playing franchise just yet, kinda waiting for the patch, going for the million

anyways, are you guys getting home runs at a normal mlb rate? like are you getting a ton of homers, or maybe 3 or 4 per series? also, are you guys getting homers with guys that dont have alot of power? can you get homers with guys that have low power with a contact swing? sorry for playing 20 questions lol

Ha, just kiddin' around, dude. The Sox/Rangers series this past weekend was brutal. Watching it on TV, all I could think was "This is just like playing a game in MLB2K-whatever where the sliders are off."

I really think your sliders would've produced a more realistic set of games than what went down in Texas.

Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders

See what you think about this Joe and tell me if you'd recommend doing anything differently:

Over the past 10 games I've kept all of the user batting and cpu pitching the same and I've averaged 5.5 runs, 10.4 hits, 1.1 homeruns per game, 8.9 strikeouts and 2.4 walks.

Runs are too high - over the top end average of 5.0 per game.
Hits are too high - over the top end average of 9.5 per game.
Home runs are just about right between the average and top end average.
K's are too high - over the top end average of 8.3 per game
Walks are too low - under the low end average of 2.75 per game.

I think the lower walk and higher strikeout totals are due to me pressing, trying NOT to strikeout because I know K's are too high. Raising user contact to 40 should help this. More foul balls, able to work the count more, hopefully less K's and more walks. At 35 contact a lot of times the defensive swing is pointless as it just leads to strikeouts. Hopefully 40 contact is enough that I can foul off some pitches.

With higher pitch counts, that means more pitches will be thrown. Some cpu pitchers have a good pitch count range of 85 - 105 or so, while others are too low, 75-90 pitches. I think I'm going to lower fatigue to 45 and see how I like it.

Scoring about 1/2 to a run per game more than I should which is likely due to getting 1 to 1.5 hits per game too many. Raising user contact to 40 certainly won't help this, so CPU pitch success needs to go up. I'm not entirely sure how much effect pitch success has, I'm hesitant about whether or not I should raise it 5 points or 10 points. I don't want to over compensate so I'm going to start at 5 points (90) and if hits remain too high I'll raise it another 5 points (95).

I think another thing leading to a few too many user runs is how many throwing errors the CPU makes. I'm going to lower the CPU throwing error slider and raise the gather error. I never see CPU gather errors. By the same token, I see user gather errors but I rarely make a throwing error so I'm going to raise user throwing errors.

Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders

I haven't fired-up my game in about a week. Been kind of busy. One thing not talked about is leaving the Hitting & Pitch Success Slider as is & raising Strike Zone Tendency.

I've seen a lot of discussion of pitching to contact. The best way to achieve this IMO is to raise SZT Slider. Data shows pitcher's throw strikes 65% of the time. (not sure if this means pitches in the Strike Zone)

For mean this would mean the SZT needs to bumped @ least to 65.

Personally again for me it's all about being patient @ the plate. Even when I had User Contact @ 30 being patient allowed for hits to happen @ a realistic pace. Timing also lays a big factor also

65% strikes counts all called strikes, swinging strikes, foul balls AND balls put into play as strikes. If strike ratio seems low in game @ 40 SZT I would attribute it to the lack of foul balls assuming a patient approach at the plate.

Right now I have SZT @ 50. I think there's a belief that raising SZT will lead to more hits because more pitches will be in the zone. Again I'm not sure of that because hitting seems to really be about timing. Also if for some reason hitting becomes a little easy raising raising Pitch Break Influence should help..

So right now SZT & PBI for are the sliders that probably need tweaking.. I would tweak those sliders 1st before tweaking hitting sliders

65 would be a nice number if you could consistently foul pitches off.
This game makes me mad when you time stuff up and it says you mistimed it.

Like using the swing analyzer and it looks like perfect timing from every angle and your bat glitches through the ball. Its irritable, also when you swing and miss and it has no timing promt.

So the system told you what you did was right but you just missed the ball.
My longest at bat this year has been 8 pitches.

Joe or anyone know if I can turn off the ball moving all over the place when a pitcher is getting rattled? I realize what that is to simulate but I HATE it! lol It feels so arcade like to me. I would rather my pitches just miss their spots more or something. thanks Blitz

Blitz, Ive updated the Pitch Composure Sliders for both to reflect less ball movement when a pitcher may get rattled

I realize we could go on forever with these sliders and they depend a lot on the users, but Human Bunt Contact and Success need to be lowered, it is way to easy to get a bunt down. I've yet to pop a bunt up, miss a bunt attempt, or even foul a bunt attempt off.

Also, the gather error for computer is too high. I tried it at 90 for a few games, and it caused the outfielders to have a high number of dropped balls. They really need to have separate error sliders for the infield and the outfield, but the outfielders really commit too many "gather" errors (dropped easy fly balls) at 90.

I do realize that the cpu infielders rarely have any gather errors though. But reaching base because outfielders are dropping balls is just no fun at all, since it hardly ever happens.
