You guys are over thinking things. It doesn't matter where you start. Once you move a slider it becomes custom. It makes no difference where you start at. If you think it does...You are wrong, and it is just the typical placebo effect. Take pitch speed. Are you saying that if you move it to 100 starting at rookie, that it will be slower than if you moved it to 100 starting at legend? No. It is the same speed. This has actually been explained over and over before. I'll see if I can dig up the conversation.
Anyways....this thread is losing steam and starting to be to much nitpicking. Way to many people thinking they know specifics about things when they really have no idea what they are talking about. making it very confusing to adjust any type of slider. Take composure... It was tuned to play a bigger role this year, and nobody knows exactly what the parameters of what it effects and how exactly. So what is the first thing you do? Turn it almost completely off. Pitchers have composure in real life. Each one is different. Some more than others. To be honest...There should only be a few things that we even touch when adjusting sliders. Or the key elements. They are... making sure the base running speed is accurate, the speed of the fielders, the contact and power from which the ball leaves the bat. These shouldn't be adjusted just to produce more or less runs or get more or less hits per game. Each and every game in the MLB is different, and just because you don't hit 3 homeruns one game or you get 15 hits in another, doesn't mean that you should think about changing sliders. All you do is get the typical physics of the speeds tuned and play the game. Take the Royals game today.... They had 1 hit through like 6 innings, against jered weaver. In the reds game the first two batters of the game homered back to back off of Volquez. My point? If that would have been MLB2k11 everyone would have went into hyper mode and wanting to adjust sliders. All I am saying is..Once you get the basic essentials set correctly the other stuff will play out as it should.
Oh...and this is not to discourage the slider guys or BIGFNJOE96. They all have done great work in getting the basics narrowed down, and given a great base. I do appreciate your work. Please don't take this the wrong way guys.
