SO, if you're going to use these sliders, pay attention to what level you're on when you start changing stuff (because they're based off of Legend). I mean, they might work good over All-Star but its way too easy over Pro.

And I will try them over All-star too.

You guys are over thinking things. It doesn't matter where you start. Once you move a slider it becomes custom. It makes no difference where you start at. If you think it does...You are wrong, and it is just the typical placebo effect. Take pitch speed. Are you saying that if you move it to 100 starting at rookie, that it will be slower than if you moved it to 100 starting at legend? No. It is the same speed. This has actually been explained over and over before. I'll see if I can dig up the conversation.

Anyways....this thread is losing steam and starting to be to much nitpicking. Way to many people thinking they know specifics about things when they really have no idea what they are talking about. making it very confusing to adjust any type of slider. Take composure... It was tuned to play a bigger role this year, and nobody knows exactly what the parameters of what it effects and how exactly. So what is the first thing you do? Turn it almost completely off. Pitchers have composure in real life. Each one is different. Some more than others. To be honest...There should only be a few things that we even touch when adjusting sliders. Or the key elements. They are... making sure the base running speed is accurate, the speed of the fielders, the contact and power from which the ball leaves the bat. These shouldn't be adjusted just to produce more or less runs or get more or less hits per game. Each and every game in the MLB is different, and just because you don't hit 3 homeruns one game or you get 15 hits in another, doesn't mean that you should think about changing sliders. All you do is get the typical physics of the speeds tuned and play the game. Take the Royals game today.... They had 1 hit through like 6 innings, against jered weaver. In the reds game the first two batters of the game homered back to back off of Volquez. My point? If that would have been MLB2k11 everyone would have went into hyper mode and wanting to adjust sliders. All I am saying is..Once you get the basic essentials set correctly the other stuff will play out as it should.

Oh...and this is not to discourage the slider guys or BIGFNJOE96. They all have done great work in getting the basics narrowed down, and given a great base. I do appreciate your work. Please don't take this the wrong way guys.

      Kinda like you?

Ok... start on default pro.. save the sliders, to make sure you're on Pro. Then reload them on Pro, change the sliders to what they are on page one and play a game..

I tried several games and there is a BIG difference. First game I had 20+ hits in 4 innings, then this game I had 3 HRs... 11 hits, 9 runs (by the 2nd inning)..

My record prior to that was like 4-15 or something like that. I'm not going to all of a sudden just TOTALLY blow out the Yankees with CC pitching.

Don't come in here and think you know everything.

Pitch speed is only a perceived setting, it doesn't change anything other than how it looks to you but in game the AI sees it the same. To test that, put speed on zero and watch the CPU still swing and miss and the it still displays the pitch being 94MPH, but it looks like its moving at about 2 MPH

And I' am not over thinking things. I only discovered this by accident because I wanted to see how the game played on default Pro level.

After that game, still on Pro, I loaded up the sliders I had uploaded to 2k Share.
The game changed dramatically after that.

Not getting into a pissing match with you. I'm to old for that. I apologize. I wasn't aware that you were one of the game developers.

As I said... This isn't meant to offend the slider testing. just that the "testing" is done correctly. And I never claimed to personally know everything. I didn't personally claim to know anything for that matter. And I didn't just come in here, I've been here for years.

        Have a good night.

I'm not getting in a pissing match either, I'm 44, its not an issue of age. But I noticed that you go into other slider threads and preach that people will be messing with sliders forever and that its basically a waste of time (I'm paraphrasing).

I am not claiming to know everything either and I could be wrong, but observation leads me to believe otherwise.

I also never claimed to be a game developer but me being correct is no more out of the question than you being correct, and vice versa.
(although I did have one of my programs featured in a Flight Sim magazine, but I digress)

Just because you say it, doesn't make it true and the same goes for me.

I was simply stating what I observed simply because it was so obvious.

          That's all.

Besides, I don't have to pee

OH, and I will say this just to be fair. I'm playing on PC, could be different.

I don't think adjusting sliders is a waste of time at all. I just think that at some point it should stop, and people should just enjoy the game. I happen to have a very good set of sliders that I have played 38 games with without changing ANYTHING. Just don't take what I say as a slam to you, it's just my opinion.

Anyways...I would really be interested in that program. Flight sim is another love of mine.

Thanks for your responses, I appreciate it. I also really appreciate the work you guys do with these sliders. Life's been getting in the way this season that's kept me from contributing very much to conversation and help with testing and feedback. But having these sliders really does improve the game experience for me, so thanks again!

                  Thoughts?
Joe, I disagree with this because it is already hard to score on a base hit with a runner on second (with guys with speed in the 50s-60s). Typically, these guys would score easily in real life and making this more difficult would be a problem IMO. Are there any other solutions to this? OF speed, etc?

bonafide, there's no real solution to this issue IMO because its all tied into the animaton. The slow gathering by OF on hits in the gap or down the line seems like a Patch issue. It also could be a ratings issue but I'm not a ratings guy.

I hear ya, I just wish there was something else to combat it without having to sacrifice runs.

I've been having some good games with these sliders and will probably use them for the season. Only been playing the daily games via live-update, as I'm waiting for the patch to fix the fatigue issue(s) prior to starting a franchise. There is no season mode right? Anyhoo, thanks for the sliders and the continual tweaks .

Hey Joe, you gotta do something about these sliders, man. I just finished a three game set as the Red Sox vs the Rnagers. Rangers were hitting everything, man. Freaking Kinsler hit a home run in every game!

And don't get me started on pitchers. I couldn't get Lester to throw a fastball over 90 mph. Then Lackey sucked worse in game two. Bucholtz wasn't bad, but the Rangers' HR count was ridiculous. I finally got Pap in today and he hit a guy!

Worst part is, it's on autosave, so I can't go back and replay the games.

So, y'know, if you could fix those IRL sliders, I'd really appreciate it.

(I'm laughing here, but as a Sox fan... yeah, this ain't good...)

Sorry to hear you had a rough series. You can tweak these sliders to your liking. Please do so. Are you looking to minimize CPU offense, While boosting your pitching?
