I'm with you. I have my power set at 100, contact 40, and I just don't hit many. I will the occasion power swing HR, but no one else is cranking it. I have the CPU power set to 90, ans they seem spot on.

But I've noticed that bumping up the power has made my contact swings more significant. So I do get more drives to the gaps.

At this point, I might start using the power swing more, and adjust power down as need be. I am curious as to if the contact slider will affect power swings.

But I just had 13 hits in a game with 40 contact and 100 power. I'm not sure I can balance it.

It is frustrating. I've only hit HR's with Albert Pujols and Colby Rasmus. I have hit one HR with a contact swing. Everything else is with a power swing.

I think dynamic player ratings will come into effect here. I also use the Cards, and I want to play a franchise with them. In a franchise, you have to have both ends of the spectrum.

So maybe having the lower power guys getting a ratings boost will lead to them hitting some homers.

Sometimes sliders just won't help you LOL


by the way, I lost . I put pitcher stamina at 30 I think. Now I'm so tired, I don't remember. I'll look tomorrow but it played out nicely

the right trigger (on xbox) is pressure sensitive. Slightly holding it will advance the replay, but slowly.

i think the baserunning speed is too high. after 5 innings, the astros already have 5 steals against me and i'm timing everything right. they also just scored from 2B by tagging up on a sac fly. that should never happen.

If you like lower Baserunning speed to 35. That should help..

I have only given up 10 sbs in all of my ST games.
By the way the cpu was 10 of 15 stealing off of me in the spring training games.
So far in the first two regular season games I have played they are 0 for 1.

And Joe I dont know what it is but since the regular season has started the cpu errors have went way down.
These sliders are GOLDEN for me, thanks for the great work guys!

Finally someone who realizes the pitch speed needs to be higher. I have mine at 80.

My only dispute with your slider set is hitting power 80 is too high, but the rest of the sliders I can agree with.

Thanks Tyrant. 80 seems good. Allows for people who hit 5-10 HR's a year to get their HR's.

As per our conversation yesterday I updated the 1st page around the Gather/Throwing Sliders.

Hopefully this will cut down on Throwing Errors & will allow for more bobbles on grounders

I had to bump up the power and contact for the User settings as well. Without fail, I've been unable to hit a ball out of the infield in the first three innings. I can work walks and foul the ball off (once I get used to the pitch speed), but no matter what I do with my swings, those first three innings see only dribblers to shortstop and second (never to a gap). I'll attempt to hit the ball in the air and they'll all be playable by infielders.

I've bumped the power and contact up and see what happens.

Has anyone else seen any issues with players attempting to steal on their own and at inopportune times? What about players trying to stretch singles in ridiculous instances?

Twice now, I've had players on base take off without me consciously telling them to. Both have left the bag before the pitcher's begun his motion, both have resulted in outs. It's infuriating. I have a hard enough time getting people on base, I don't need the game getting free running outs.

More recently, I had Pedroia (with my fingers completely off the shoulder buttons) inexplicably attempt to steal home... from first. Literally, the icon in the diamond overlay said "H". Didn't say "2" or "3". He had eyes for home. What the hell?

Later, Saltalamachia (I don't think I'm spelling that right and I don't care) hit a nice single to center. However, without any command from me, he decided to try for two. I swear, my fingers were off the shoulders and my thumbs were off the sticks.


I know there's been some complaint about the cpu runners not being aggressive enough, but is anybody else seeing this sort of behavior?

Oh, my other question Joe. Have you been updating the file available on 2KShare? I know you've had a lot of testers and made a lot of suggestions in this thread, but are they making it into what's available online?

First off I just wanted to say that I love your sliders Joe. I have been following this thread since I purchased the game.

For those having trouble hitting HRs (like I used to) try turning CPU pitch success down to 80 or 75 (depending on the power of your team). I have been seeing great results so far. Through my last 3 game series I hit 3 homeruns, 1 with Pujols, 1 with Holliday, and one with Rasmus (contact swing). On top of that, my hit totals/extra base hits have not changed dramatically. I am averaging maybe 1 more hit/0.5 doubles per game.

I have had runners after singles continue running towards 2nd. Not why it's happen. When I look 2 the base running box it has them heading towards 3rd as if they were trying for a triple. Really weird. What I've done now is check that base running box after my hits.

I believe this has been reported to 2KSports for possible fix in a PATCH.

Great suggestion bonafide. Drop CPU Pitch Success 1 OR 2 clicks. (80-75) Don't drop it any lower or else your gonna get unbalanced offensive #s

*I'm also thinking about bumping OF Throw Speeds to help minimize extra base hits due to the slow gathers by OF*

It should be, because once you edit a slider, any slider, it moves the game to "Custom" so it becomes its own difficulty.

Yes, it should be, I agree. But, is it?

It does not become its own difficulty. Yes, they're custom but they're custom Pro, Custom All-Star or Custom Legend.

I tested this.. applying these sliders over 'Pro' is much different. I was beating the Yankees 9-1 in the 2nd inning and had 3 home runs so far and I barely hit any HR's when over Legend mode.


SO, if you're going to use these sliders, pay attention to what level you're on when you start changing stuff (because they're based off of Legend). I mean, they might work good over All-Star but its way too easy over Pro.

And I will try them over All-star too.
