In my games with the Braves, I had a heck of a time throwing strikes too. I quit, midway through a game and pitched with Sabathia and te Yanks, and had no trouble throwing strikes. Confused on what I should do. Been playing these 2K games for years, struggling to pitch is fun and certainly realistic, but shouldn't be impossible to throw strikes. Will keep testing.

JMan move the User Pitch Control Slider to 35 & see how that works. Also are you using the Breakpoint or Pinpoint setting(In the Controller Set-up Menu)

Joe,

Are you just saying lower the Human OF speed to 0 or both Human and AI. I'll try it in a while and report back with the newer contact sliders as well.

Played another great game. I really like these, very challenging. Again, I'm using 25/25 inf/outfielder run speed.

Braves (me) 4 4 0
Dodgers 3 9 1

Hanson v. Kershaw

Offense:
Braves 3 singles, 1 double, 5 walks
Dodgers 6 singles, 2 doubles, 1 hr, 2 walks

Pitching:
Braves 61 balls, 88 strikes, 2 walks, 10 k's, 9ip
Dodgers 43 balls 65 strikes, 5 walks, 8 k's, 9ip

Dodgers gave up 4 runs in the third. Kershaw walked the 7th and 8th batters to start the 3rd and then there was an error on Hanson's bunt that allowed him to reach base. Bases loaded no outs Prado singles in two. Later in the inning Chipper also singles in 2. Then Kershaw gets out of the inning with a double play. Braves really only threatened once more in the 9th but left a runner stranded at second.

I pitched out of several jams against the dodgers getting strike outs. The home run I gave up was a no doubter off a horribly hung curveball against Thames who pinch hit for Kershaw in the bottom of the 5th.

Troncoso and Kuo both went 2 innings and were disgustingly good.

In the bottom of the 7th I had to bring in Moylan as Hanson was up over 90 pitches. Moyland gave up a hit and a run but did record an out. I then brought in O'flaherty to get out Either followed by Linebrink to get out Kemp which stranded runners on first and second.

In the 8th I brought in Kimbrel thinking it was the ninth. I ended up letting Kimbrel pitch two innings which he barely had enough gas to do. Kimbrel is wild as hell, I could aim straight down the middle with a 4 seamer and it be out of the strike zone, I'd also aim at the low outside corner and throw a 4 seamer down the middle. His stuff is electric though, struck out 3 in 2ip. Did give up a hit in the 9th which they pinch ran and stole second. So with 1 out in the bottom of the 9th with a faster runner on 2nd base I had to go up against the top of the order. I struck out the next two batters to end the game. Was clutch.

Very good game.

Comments:
1) Strike outs are a bit high on both sides. Part of that for me is the increased pitch speed and lowered batters eye. I'm sure the lower cpu contact contributes to the higher ko's for them, though Hanson and Kimbrel are both strikeout pitchers.
2) 25 inf/outfielder speed feels good.
3) 40 baserunner speed is perfect. Limits triples, runners still score from 2nd on singles.

Only Human OF Speed to 0. Leave CPU OF Speed @ 30

McClouth and Heyward are plus fielders as far as range goes, but I definitely notice a difference with Prado playing out of position in left. 25 speed in OF seems fine for the user to me. I'm not getting to any balls that I should not.

I haven't seen anything go through the infield that should have been an out either. Thus far 25/25 seems solid, I actually lowered it from 30/30 because infielders and outfielders were getting to too many balls. I initially raised outfielder speed to lessen triples, but lowering baserunner speed to 40 is actually what was needed.

Going to play several more games before I make any tweaks, if any.

Possible tweaks include:
- Raise user batters eye.
- Lower pitch speed
- Make cpu throw slightly more strikes.
- Raise user pitching control
- Might raise user/cpu contact if too many strikeouts continue to occur.

I am having a real problem scoring any runs with this set.
I am going to up the hum contact to 50 and see how that goes.
I played 2 games last night and didnt score a run in either game.

This makes more sense. Using Breakpoint is more fun but much more difficult to throw pitches where you want them with your control settings. Would have been nice to know you were using pinpoint

Are u getting any bobble balls from your infield/outfield players? I'm only seeing throwing errors, but no bobbles or anything. U think i need to increase my gather error slider, but i had it at 100 and nothing happened so far, u have any advice? Thanks JOE!!!!!

Man I can't score any runs either to save my life!

Just played as PHI vs BOS (Halladay v. Bucholz). Pitching was much better using control at 35 and pinpoint, but BOS still got 10 hits off of Roy in 8 IP, I did ring up 8 K's though, which I thought was realistic. I had CPU contact at 55, and user contact at 45. I'm going to try next game with both at 50.

Utley's first 2 AB were a double and HR, and that was essentiall my only offense, as I had 5 hits (2 singles, 2 doubles, 1 HR).

Game feels more realistic than ever, with less effort getting it there (tweaking)

Pretty good game - nice to get some varied results, blew out the D-Backs.

Had a 3 run home run with McCann in the first (power swing). Game was pretty standard until the 9th when I put up 7 hits and 5 runs. Strikeout numbers are still inflated. I'm afraid to raise contact much if at all in fear of hits ballooning. Maybe I will lower power 10 ea and raise contact 10 ea.

What do you think about the contact joe?

EDIT: Oh yeah, I raised CPU strike zone tendency to 35. They were walking too many people. I may change user control up to 35 also but haven't yet.

You could give that a try. I have seen some bobbles on my end. Bobbles usually happen when I'm trying to pre-loading my throws.

For those still not getting any runs do you think pitch speed is the issue or timing/contact?

Blazzen give 45 contact (user) 50-55 contact (CPU) a try. Should help with the SO without inflating stats
