Ok, was playing with contact at 45 and struggling to score and hit. Then I backed off the power swing, worked the count and used the contact swing more freely. Scored 10 and 13 runs in back to back games. Lowered the contact back to 35 and I continue to hit, just not score double digits. So, approach to hitting is really a key in this game, IMO. I'm just not the most patient at the plate on certain nights, or everything looks good until I swing.

Using the updated sliders.
Having a lot more fun now, and it is more realistic. I really have to get better at the pitch meter, they can really make you pay.
Something that frustrates me, the computer seems to always lay off balls, even if they are just outside the black. However, on two strikes, I usually pitch just outside the zone and they are getting hits off me. Frustrating. Could be that I'm struggling to hit my pitch meter and getting 100%?
In my games now, I usually do well pitching until I get to the 7th inning, and my SP starts fatiguing, or I bring in a reliever and am not used to their motions. I think this is realistic though and a good thing.
The gameplay seems crisper and more realistic with these sliders. I feel accomplished when I do something right (inducing a double play with bases loaded, getting out of jams, situational hitting, drawing walks), and it feels like my fault when I do something wrong (chasing pitches on 2 strikes, mistake pitches, diving to catch a deep shot to center and missing - allowing an in-the-park homer...oops)

Remember everyone these sliders are more of a base set. Please tweak to your hearts content. Everyone has different play styles. What works for 1 user may not work for another.

Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders
Played my first game with these, I had been using pro default so I figured there would be an adjustment peroid. First of all I loved your camera adjustments espically the fielding one. I played an exhbition game with me as Boston vs the Pirates( Im a Mets fan though, just picked a better teaam for my first game with these)
pirates: 9 runs 17 hits(They had 4 doubles 1 triple and the rest singles) 1 Error
Redsox 10 runs 20 hits(5 doubles 3 homers)
I won in 11 innings on a walkoff hit by Youk. I was down 4-0 and 5-1 in the 3rd, before I came back to tie keyed on Papi and Adrain homers. I took the lead in the middle innings after I settled down with lester. I allowed a run in the 7th and that made it 7-6 me, then I tacked on a run in both the 7th and the 8th to make it 9-6 me. I stroke out the first 2 guys with Papelbon then he allowed 5 hits in a row for 3 runs. I won in the bottom of the 11th on a Youk single.
Few Thoughts;
Note I had user contact on 40 and cpu on 35(the lower of the 2 numbers in the first posst due to it being my first game)
I stroke out a ton, seemed like I either got a hit or ked
Most of my hits and all 3 of my homers were oppistie field-this is a timing thing I guess
Good set of slidersComment

I just got ripped apart by the Dodgers 17-5. Having patience pitching is something I never thought about before. I myself am very very happy with the results of the first set with 2 tweaks.

Also, really have to concentrate when I'm pitching this year. I flat-out love it. Also, is it me... or do games take a little longer to play this year? Not complaining, but I actually love it.
Hats-off to BigJoe for a great set of sliders.Comment

Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders
The only struggle with this set of sliders (or the video game itself) is that grounders go through the infield unless its right at a fielder. Not sure if this is able to be adjusted through sliders, unfortunately.Madden gamer since 93, Madden Online Record: 252-31, #360 overall

Agree man. I'm finding myself really having to think about every at-bat.

Make sure you are properly shifting your infielders in obvious situations, also to where you are pitching a batter.Comment

Re: BIGFNJOE96 mlb 2k11 Custom Legend Sliders
After 10 games in my franchise and only losing two and feeling like I'm dominating too easily, I decided to give these sliders a try. After 2 games so far. I am really liking them. Thanks for the time and effort Joe and everyone who's helped tweak them.Comment
