    MLB 2K12 SLIDERS:

NOTE: Begin inputting your sliders from ALL-STAR difficulty. Not sure what difference it makes, but last year we noted this did have some influence on the game. Used last year's set as a base, but with MANY important changes.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

    A couple notes:

    - I do NOT know how these work with Total Control Hitting... Sorry, but I'm an old man who loves classic batting. But you're on your own with that.

    - Keep an eye on USER batting POWER... I may have to raise that, but will wait to see more results. 2K most definitely gave the pitchers the momentum swing this year as I've had to do some adjusting to get the offenses to click.

Appreciate the feedback!! Like last year, I want to get a solid set together for everyone to enjoy. I've taken feedback from a lot of other slider creators here, so I want to thank them (and those who post their observations) as it's a help to all of us in search of those "perfect" sliders...

      Sorry...a couple more thoughts:

      - keep an eye on the catcher arm strength / accuracy. I've been stolen on, but probably were by guys who SHOULD steal bases.

      - let me know what your impression on the CPU AI Outfield Throw Speed. I have it currently at 60, but was thinking it might go down to 50.

      Again, impressions helpful. Thanks!

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching

        3 UPDATES TO POST #1:

        - raised pitcher fatigue from 40 to 45 (pitchers were going too deep - might even consider 50, but will stay with 45 for now)

        - raised USER BATTING POWER from 55 to 60. I love the new ball physics, BUT balls slow down in the outfield grass. We can try two things: either 1) raise the batting power or 2) lower the cpu running speed. Let's try batting power first and go from there.

        - raised CPU BATTING POWER from 85 to 90. As above, the cpu just doesn't put together a proficient offense against me.

(If you guys are familiar with my style of building sliders, I go by a FEEL type of thing where I know what the game does from years of playing 2K and hundreds (if not thousands) of games played. I think these changes will be important, and possibly more forthcoming. Page 1 - Post 1 will ALWAYS have the latest updates...

Picking up the game on Friday. Used your sliders last year and will be doing so again this year. Testing these out as soon as I get the game. Thanks for all that you add to the 2k community.

                  Thanks!

Does lowering the cpu pitch speed affect anything else (other than my personal hitting success)? I'm late on everything when it's at 60, much less 75. Currently using it at 50.

Okay, guys... Some wholesale changes across the board. Latest update is Thursday, March 8 @ 12:25 pm (page 1 - post 1 has all the latest updates). Make sure you double-check all your slider numbers.

Don't be frightened by what you see. This game is HEAVILY geared to the pitchers, so some adjustments must be made unless you want games with 1 to 3 or 4 hits per game. I've gotten in around 10 games, and I really like these changes, and the animations are improved as well.

Please also note: these are a BASE set...tweak to fit YOUR needs and gaming style. As always, your feedback is invited and very much appreciated!

Hey man, I love your sliders and I've used them the last couple of years (I've found them through google and stuff lol)

As to how they work with total control hitting, I've found them to be pretty good over the last couple of years. I'm gonna plug in your sliders today into my franchise and I'll get some box scores up for you in here and in my franchise thread. But keep up the great work man!

                          C. Lee 8.0 11 1 1 2 4 100-65
                          A. Bastardo 2.0 1 0 0 0 0 17-13
                          M. Stutes (W) 2.0 2 0 0 0 1 23-18

                          Prado, McCann 3-5
                          RBI: Utley, Thome, Hanson
                          E: Freeman
                          HBP: Victorino, Mayberry, Polanco
                          CS: Victorino

This torment of game ended in the bottom of the 12th when my pinch hitter Jim Thome drove Shane Victorino home. I had plenty of foulballs, groundouts and strikeouts, while Braves had plenty of hits but simply could not score runs. Only extra base hit in the whole game was double by Jose Reyes.

Will try with the most recent sliders, keep up with good work, I hope there will be some more runs and home runs in the future matches.

EDIT: played the game with new sliders and i must say they are a lot better although i lost against Brewers. Hamels dominated the Brewers for 8 innings and i l had the lead 2-1 at the bottom of the 9th. When my closer Papelbon entered the game it all went to hell as he allowed 3 runs and i lost 4-2. Brewers had 6 hits, I had seven. Due to the increased batting for cpu they had two homers, I had none. Next game i tried to play with starting pitchers with lower ratings so I paired my Joe Blanton against Bronson Arroyo and Cincinnati Reds. First inning was great, Blanton struggled with two walks and no hits, while I took the lead as Chase Utley finally rang the Liberty Bell. But second and third innings were nightmares. Blanton gave hit after hit, couple of walks and a homer, after second inning result was 5-1, in 3rd inning I replaced Blanton with Kyle Kendrick and soon I quit the game when the result was 9-1 for the Reds.

One other thing i noticed is that Victorino (speed 92) got caught stealing 2 out of 2 times. I keep base running on auto cause i suck with that, autofielding is off. And some slow cpu players tried to steal base like Bronson Arroyo (speed 60) and Mat Gamel (70).

I was just going to conment about the first set, I was striking out a lot of guys 1 per ip johan vs braves, and a lot of double plays but I like the changes you made. one other thing I noticed was a lot of cpu errors, 2 one game 4 the next.

going to play with new set

^^ One run on 14 hits?? Ouch...

Anyway, welcome back this year harsh! I'm surprised you're finding it geared towards pitching. I only find that on the USER side of things. I've played about two dozen games and have had no problem scoring runs or hitting home runs. In fact, as the Tigers, it's almost a guarantee to slam one with Cabrera or Fielder.

The CPU on the other hand might need a slight bump as I consistently destroy their hitters.

Can't wait to give your set a try!
