Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
TWO new updates - page 1 - post 1 (3.12.12 - 8:10 pm):
- raised USER Outfield Run Speed from 15 to 20
- lowered CPU AI Base Running Aggression from 70 to 65
As you can see, we have a wide range of gamers here... It is virtually impossible to create a universal set that pleases everyone. If you are struggling in certain areas, then tweak to fit your needs.
These two changes should help reduce the amount of triples. For me, it's the only area that I felt needed tweaked.
I played a unique game today: Reds (me) at Giants (cpu). I lost 10-1. Now, I was only trailing 2-1 in the 6th inning, but I made a stupid pitch that cleared the bases. I got careless on a throw and made an error (it was all on me). I had 4 errors in this game, but I went 5 straight games with NONE. It happens... But you can't get reactionary to every game...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I think the only thing i had a problem with was the amount of triples too. i think i had one, and the cpu had 2. but two of them were jon jay and jose reyes, so thats understandableNFL - Minnesota Vikings

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Well, two games into my franchise, the Mets beat me 11-2 the first game. I had 4 errors(two were my own fault), they had 14 hits, 13 singles and a GS. I had 5 hits, all singles. We each drew 3 walks and they struck me out 4 times, I got them twice. The pitchers were Santana and Hudson. We also each had one stolen base.
In game 2, Dickey vs Hanson, I won 13-7. I had 15 hits, they had 13. I had 3 HR's, they had 1, I had a triple and a 2 doubles, they had 2 and 1 triple, the rest were singles. I struck them out 11 times to my 7 times striking out. I had 2 stolen bases, they had 0 with one being caught. I drew 3 walks, they drew 1. We also each had an error.
So, I've seen my offense down in game one, explode in game two. In both games their offense has pretty much been great, maybe too powerful. I'll give it a few more games, I have the Astros next, if they tear my pitching up, then I'll definitely need to touch some things up.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
For the most part, these sliders are great. But I'm having a bit of trouble with fielding. The slightest preloading results in horrible errors. Even the best fielders just cannot preload at all. Something if way off and I'm not sure how to change it.
Otherwise, the CPU might have just a little too much power. It's either a strike out or a deep drive, and that seems wrong. Very few weak grounders by the CPU.
Thanks MK, for all the hard work. Very cool!Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Yeah, after a few more games the CPU is definitely overpowered and the lack of ground balls is evident.
There also needs to be more pitcher control, I'd say about 90% of pitches never end up even close to the intended target.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
The tribe has spoken... I'm listening to what you guys are saying. I LOVE the pitching, so I'm not touching it. But I did update 4 areas (Tuesday, March 13th - 2:20 am):
- USER Gather Error Frequency: 55 (lowered from 60)
- USER Throwing Error Frequency: 55 (lowered from 60)
- CPU AI Gather Error Frequency: 50 (lowered from 55)
- CPU AI Catcher Arm Strength: 50 (lowered from 55)
I really think we're set. I'm seeing amazing games. With regard to the lack of soft balls being hit - I just pitched a game as the Brewers using Randy Wolf - 75% of my outs were with ground balls, many of them were very soft.
I don't want to play this game where each game is a cookie cutter of the other. I LOVE the variety. I think some are giving impressions after ONE bad game. I've got my butt kicked with these sliders, have had some nail-biters, and I've given it to the CPU. For the first time since I've owned a baseball game, I'm going to get into a Franchise Mode. Gonna work on rosters more, and then start mine in a couple weeks... But I do appreciate your feedback, and I'm trying to be as helpful to what you're seeing as possible. Thanks!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Speaking of nail-biters. Playing against the cubs last night I go up early 1-0. They tie it up the following inning 1-1. I get 3 runs in the next inning and stay that way till the top of the 8th when Soto hits a 3 run bomb... ouch.
Ends up going 13 innings and the cubs beat me with a solo homer. Awesome game to say the least.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
Overall these slidersa are excellent, I only made adjustments to help overabundance of errors on human side, and to batting contact for both sides; because for me it was a bit too heavy on cpu side, and extremely hard on human side.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
BrianU... I would suggest raising the CPU batting contact (put it at 80 and see what you think). I would not touch the pitching slider. Less movement on the pitches will make locating them too easy, and thus negate that difficulty. Another option (though maybe not the best one) is to raise the user pitcher composure influence - will get your pitcher rattled a bit quicker, and will make pitches harder to locate. The only drawback is the cpu can get an avalanche of hits...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I think you have pretty much nailed it to be honest. People might have to make a couple tweaks to suit their play style/skill level but this is a spot on starting point.
I have made 3 very slight 5 tick up or down tweaks to your sliders at its current state and I really dont have any problems with any part of the game right now.
oh and the latest change did help the excessive tripples.Comment

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
I've played 4 games with these now, and i really like them. The games have been hard, as i'm 0-4 haha, but i haven't felt cheated or anything. The only concerns i have are:
1. Too many user SO's - in my franchise i use the card's, and thru 4 games i got 37 SO's. Thats tied for the league lead and 2 other teams have more than 30. I don't know know league averages so that might not be a huge problem.
2. Triples - i know other people have this one too. Just played a game where braun had 2 triples. He's pretty fast and he hit two gappers, so again might not be a huge problem bc he's one of the better hitters in the game.
3. I can't win a game! haha i've lost 9-3, 3-2, 4-3, 5-1. But like i said, i haven't felt cheated yet, i'll give it a few more games, hopefully i can get on track hereNFL - Minnesota Vikings

Re: mkharsh33 MLB 2K12 Sliders: Classic Hitting / Total Control Pitching
newest set with 80 cpu contact:
Braves 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0
Mets 0 0 0 1 0 2 1 0 X
J. Santana (W) 7ip 4h 1er 2bb 5k
R. Ramirez 1ip 0h 0bb 2k
F. Francisco 1ip 1h 0bb 0k
J. Jurrjens (L) 8ip 8h 4er 0bb 5k
2B I.Davis
RBI A.Torres (sac), D.Wright (sac), I.Davis 2
SB D. Murphy
2B M.Bourn
3B J.Heyward
RBI J.Heyward
best game I've played so far. I really love to pitch using the entire strike zone and outside of it. I have began pitching away from contact and if I'm ahead in the count I pitch outside. I've played the Braves so much that I've learned how to approach each hitter without inside edge. I love pitching inside on a batter. My offense clicked despite me being impatient I made lots of contact. On the bases I had two perfect hit n runs leading to runs. Two sac flies and an ike davis hit down the left field line that scored two give me the W. finally am leaening how to use my relievers properly. F Francisco give up the first hit to McCann but Angel Torres doubled him up as he tried to tag up from 2nd base to third. MVP Angel Torres 2 for 3 2 runs 1 rbi.
I've yet to have any close plays at home nor has the cpu, was thinking of raising OF arm speed to 50. I score 2nd to home pretty easy and typically the comp just holds onto the ball after thrown to cut off man. Ks and hits were good for me at 80 cpu contact. used your newest rostersLast edited by BrianU; 03-13-2012, 08:15 PM.Comment
