    NL East: 378-338 (.528)

NL Central: 375-339 (.525) Without Pittsburgh

NL Central: 432-424 (.505) With Pittsburgh

Good enough for a two game lead for the NL East with an even amount of teams, and sixteen game lead when factoring in the entire division.
Damnit. It is .528 for the east. That's what I get for adding it up and trying to remember it while I added the central.

Also, the Braves are 28-14 against the NL Central, while the Cards are just 18-14 against the NL East.

Andruw gets my vote for the MVP. I've watched a ton of Braves games this year, and he's just come up huge time after time.

But, but, but.....he doesn't hit well with RISP and two outs on games played on Thursdays against division rivals so Pujols has to be the MVP.

I vote squint for Homer of the year. Do you not look at the numbers Puljols is playing for the team with the best record in baseball and look at how many players that team is missing (Rolen, Sanders, and Walker hasn't played most of the year either). Also if your saying they should count defense when judging the MVP race Puljols is one of the best defensive first basemen in the majors. Bar none if the race was is between Puljols and Jones Puljols wins the award and this is coming from somebody who hates the cardinals and not some homer who probably doesn't watch anybody other than the braves.

man, talking about defence, andrew is a gold glover, so he definately has the bigger edge in that department. the problem is, i don't see someone with a .270 average being mvp of the league, but we'll see

yup and I think we should disallow opinions of people who do not know anything about baseball as well. I'll quit posting if you will.

Andruw currently has a sick 6.2 AB/HR ratio for September.

He is having a great September I give him credit but the overall numbers are just to overwhelming in Pujols favor.

Zito I dont think youre helping the Pujols argument much here...

I still think it should be Albert followed by Andruw right now, .270 just doesnt say MVP to me, and you cant ignore how many more chances he has had to drive in runs, plus the fact the Bobby Cox is what makes that team go.

Still there is a month of baseball left. I cant remember if MVP is given before or after the playoffs, but a lot of stuff can still happen. It is obviously a very close race now.

Don't you have to actually root for the team in question to be considered a homer? Sorry, bub....but I'm a Padre fan and you don't see me screaming to vote Brian Giles MVP.

In case you haven't been paying attention all season, Jones has been playing with a bunch of rookies and second year players and with an injured Chipper Jones during a key stretch of the season when the rest of the N.L. East was all over Atlanta.

                              Nice try, but try again.....

Pujols has better numbers clearly, but it's not an award for best player. It's who is more valuable to there team. Pujols has a better surrounding cast than Andruw. Plus, don't forget how many plays AJ makes in the OF that saves games. I don't know, I'll take either one.
