Anyone still get that feeling that the Mets will still be somewhere around 80-85 wins?

$10.75 mil a year for a 35 year old closer? That's brutal. At least Ryan is 29.

That's a lot of money, and a lot of years. Hopefully, he doesn't have the nagging arm problems that plagued his stay with Philly.

They could very well, but with these guys that would be underachieving when the past 3 years that would have been overachieving.

Watching Omar Minaya build the Mets is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

I would say they are the early favorites to win the NL East or the Wild Card. Definetly a playoff team.

In a "win now" city he's doing all he can to do so.

I hate the Mets. I am so worried now by the Braves inactivity and nagging issues at SS and LF. I wasn't worried last year or the year before but this year I really believe could end the divison run.

It just every off-season, the Knicks and the Mets add new players that don't translate into Wins, and I heard about it over and over from members on the board that this is the year, and it just doesn't happen.

                              It's really amazing.

In a few years when they are paying the backend of these incredible contracts and have traded away most of their useful prospects, Mets fans will have no one else to blame but Mr. Minaya.
