Report: Barry Bonds Done After '06
After sitting out most of the 2005 season, Barry Bonds is calling this season his last. The Giants slugger, who is 47 homers shy of Hank Aaron, told USA Today that he will retire with or without the all-time home run record. "I'm not playing baseball anymore after this," he said.
No link yet. Thats what ESPN has up. -

Re: This year to be Bonds last.
Originally posted by billmaticnot really a surprise. though, he probably could have moved to the AL and DH if he wanted to keep playing.
I hope he doesnt break anyone *real* records (braces for all the SF fans to come defend the cheater) and should have retired when the scandal broke.Comment

Re: This year to be Bonds last.
Mark my words, if Bonds falls a little bit short of the HR record at the end of the season he will return for another season if he's healthy.
Heck he already said he would play at the WBC and then pulled out. I'm sure Selig isn't thrilled with Bonds comments even if they're the truth.
"This has nothing to do with drug testing," Bonds said. "I just don't want to do it. Come on, the World Cup isn't the Olympics. Who cares? Does it mean anything?Comment

I hope he comes back skinny as a twig and blows out his knee in the first game of the season and can not play at all. I can not stand Bonds and would not mind seeing him get hit by a bus.Comment
