Though, Soriano is not under contract to play 2B, he does have the right to refuse having to move to another position. A team having his rights does not mean they have to make every single decision for him. Soriano is still his own person and if he strongly believes he wants to be a 2B, more power to him.

Comparing other jobs to this is ridiculous. Baseball isn't like other jobs. So stop trying to make it feel like it is.

I think the issue gets complicated if you blur the line between Soriano's behavior and rights on a personal level as opposed to a professional one.

On a personal level (IMO) there's nothing unreasonable about Soriano not wanting to move positions. He has the right to refuse a move as well, although I view it as somewhat immature and selfish.

On a professional level Soriano has been hired to do a certain job, namely be a baseball player and if he refuses to fulfill this job he can (and should) be refused pay.

As a Nats fan I'm just glad he's in the lineup now, even though I still dont like the trade that brought him to DC. That and that he's hitting leadoff in spring training games, which would be a horrible idea...

Well he played in left field, glad to see that he chose to put the Team first and play the position that the Team requested IMO I think he will do great in LF and the Nats need all the help they can get.His market value will obviously be better if he is playing no matter what position.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)
