I love how ESPN is hyping this whole stupid thing, and yet nobody else gives a crap. ESPN, all hype no substance...

"It was there that a 25-year-old serviceman, who said he could soon be headed for a tour in Iraq, excitedly asked Bonds to autograph the home run ball that the man caught after it bounced off the facade of the upper deck. Bonds turned his head dismissively and ignored him. Bonds later posed for a picture with the man and shook his hand, but refused to sign the ball. It was just more of Bonds spreading his good cheer."
Oh yeah, the guy did sign the contract. Classy move on his part.Last edited by mjb2124; 05-09-2006, 01:38 PM.Comment

So, what's everyone's thoughts on the Giants not being able to sell out AT&T Park on nights where Bonds could potentially catch and/or pass Ruth for second place all-time? Has it really come to this? Are these the only 38,000 fans who even give a crap anymore? Does this happen if he gets to #754 next season?

In my opinion, people are getting tired of the Bonds saga. I think that people are starting to understand just how arrogant and how much of a cheater Bonds is. Whether you want to agree with me or not on my opinion, its easy to see that people just don't care anymore. Look at the stands at the park where Barry should be the most loved.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Official Barry Bonds Thread
I'd be a hyprocrite to blame Bonds for using steroids, because in the ultra competitive world of sports it's hard to swallow other players getting an unfair advantage over another without doing something to counter that advantage. I probably would have. But how can I get excited over a tainted HR record or expect anything less than the Ruth family not honoring Bond's juice filled accomplishment? As a huge Frank Robinson fan I'm not too thrilled to see the likes of Bonds and Sosa passing him on the alltime HR list, because they decided to cheat.Comment
