Again, it amazes me the length you guys will go to to defend cheaters.
Cortisone helps in some of the same ways as steroids most are familiar with, It heals the muscle allowing you to heal faster.

What's your point? Cortisone helps you heal. So what?

Steroids help other things as well.

From what I've read their seems to be some documented proof that they help eyesight or hand/eye coordination somewhat. They obviously also provide the obvious in strength, muscle mass etc...

That is bogus about the eyesight! But he is right about pain killers! And for sure about Cortisone. It is a steroid. I took it when I blew my shoulder and knee out! That and vicodin. All these things can been seen as performance enhancer. I know I used them in college and high school. Mostly so I could play. Trust me most athletes take something to help them recover. The only thing about steroids are they are very bad for you and that is why they are illegal. All athletes take something to help them with the day to day grind they put on their bodies! The bottom line is people are always going to cheat to get the edge. If it is not steroids they will find something else!

Ok I am going to respond to everything so that I don't have to do multiple posts.

Pat, whoever it is, Bonds is guilty of perjury.

Air, yes I am bitter, for the same reasons Camulos is. Baseball's most sacred numbers are being attacked by egotistical _________(insert own word). Bonds cheated, he took steroids, knowingly or unknowingly, but nevertheless he took them and now is chasing records that are sacred.

As for painkiller comments, that is just absurd. Most people refuse to see the forrest for all the trees.

Yes, some forms of steroids are used to heal parts of the body. Others are used, by cheaters, as a way to grow muscles.

And someone explain this, who in the hell takes Cattle steroids to fix an injury? Cattle steroids is what caused Bonds' head to grow to the size it has.

Why do people continually defend Bonds, a cheater either purposely or by accident(he took steroids) and then always want to bring up McGwire into it. Well guess what folks, McGwire took androl (however you spell it) and by today's rules it is illegal so yes he cheated in my opinion.

But continue to celebrate Bonds, who is still in second place mind you, and praise his name, but I have no intentions of praising a cheater.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Some are claiming it to be true (near bottom):

"Performance-enhancing use: It builds muscle and strengthens connective tissue, especially when taken in combination with steroids or insulin. Some users report improved eyesight."

For what it's worth, this isn't the only place I've read it. I'm just reporting what I've read. I have a steel trap inside my head that doesn't forget anything!

I don't know for certain if steroids are illegal just on the fact that they can damage your body. If you take enough Tylenol it can cause renal failure bigtime. That is why I personally don't take over the counter painkillers they all have serious side effects.

Cheaters are in the Hall of Fame right now. I've come to accept baseball's numbers not being as "wholesome" as they seem. Shoot, that's the fabric of this damn country. People make it seem like baseball and America as a whole is just this fine and dandy wholesome thing, and how dare some arrogant black man come and do well through some performance enhancement? Forget about Gaylord Perry or Whitey Ford, this is Babe Ruth! Bonds is not worth to be mentioned in the same name as an amazing baseball player and consistent drunk. How dare he! It's not that we are praising him for cheating. It's that so many "great" people have done things that could be characterized as cheating in this country that it really isn't a surprise, and in the great scheme of things, this is such a trivial matter.

It's amazing how so many people can't understand this.

That's not what he's saying, In short he's saying that people overromanticize certain sports figures while not accepting others because the don't fit the prototype of the all-american sports figure, As soon as they step outside of the norm speak their minds people quickly jump all over them.

Leaked grand jury testimony where he stated he used the cream and the clear unknowingly. Both are steroids his trainer gave him. Same thing that Giambi did - that is admitting to using in front of a grand jury.

So no he didn't test positive by MLB's terribly weak testing policy. Neither did McGwire or Sosa or Canseco or Giambi. Although Canseco/Giambi admitted to it and the other 2 didn't. So technically if none of them tested positive, then they're all innocent.

He said he "unknowingly" used them. Plus there is overwhelming circumstancial evidence that says that he used them knowingly. I think he was actually given the benefit of doubt before all of the Balco stuff came out. But now you are only left with one logical conclusion as to how he became so great so late into his career.
