Unknowingly or knowingly the cream and clear are both steroids. Therefore he did them.

And let's not kid ourselves....no athlete is going to not know what's put into their body. Do you eat food that you don't know what it is? Do you put unknown substances into your gas tank of your car just to try it out? I doubt it. An athlete doesn't put something unknowingly into their body.

Do you want to know why he hasn't tested positive as well as MANY other players in baseball? Because baseball uses an ancient urine test to detect steroids. This urine test cannot and will not detect HGH or other higher end designer steroids. It's very rudimentary.

I wouldn't claim all these HR's that he's hitting now either. His HR's/AB are WAY down this year compared to the last few years. He's also hit a lot of warning track shots this year that haven't gone out. Many have stated that would happen if he was off steroids. His size wouldn't shrink that drastically either. It's not like when someone goes off them they go back to being a skinny person.

My opinion isn't that I hate the guy. It's that I hate seeing what's happening in baseball right now. It's become a joke. It's not just Barry, but he IS the center of attention when it comes to steroid discussions.
I watch every giants game and im unaware of all these "warning track" shots he hits, i must be going blind or something. Although he has been away from the game an entire year almost missing all of last year just about, and being 41 years old,and having a bad knee, and bone chips in the elbow (supposedly) but im sure none of that has to do with his timing being off and inability to go the other way. HAS to be the roids right???...

All anyone is doing right now is speculating,
"I think he was doing something, he looks bigger, someone wrote a book that said he was doing steroids, so he must have been doing them"

If there is so much proof how come nothing has been done?... Ill tell you. BECAUSE THIER IS NO PROOF HE KNOWINGLY DID ANYTHING ILLEGAL. and until there is i wont prosecute him.

Oh and on your point about "any athlete knows what hes putting in his body"
If my lifelong friend and trainer were to give me something Id ask what it was if he wanted to lie to me and tell me it was something it wasnt im going to take his word for it. Im not gonna sit there with the stuff under amicroscope with textbooks examining it. I'd trust my best friend not to lie to me, and im sure anyone else would too... now again im sure it was probably like "I know what this is but dont tell me" type of situation, but there is no proof of that so i cant say thats what happend. just like you cant say he was doing HGH and all this other stuff

Steering this convo away from the current topic but I felt I had to talk about it.

Fans listening to the Giants game on radio station KNBR did not hear the account of the home run because the microphone of play-by-play announcer Dave Flemming stopped working.

"Three-and-two. (Steve) Finley runs. The payoff pitch, a swing and a drive to deep cen ..." That's all Northern California listeners got when Bonds passed Babe Ruth.
That's totally funny but I kinda feel bad for Dave Flemming. I actually heard the full call and it was very good.

sorry if this was brought up.

Barry admitted to using the cream and the clear...unknowingly. Both are steroids and both are illegal in baseball and in the USA. Knowingly or unknowingly - it doesn't matter. He STILL DID STEROIDS. How much clearer do I have to make it. That's like me getting pulled over for speeding and telling the officer "I didn't realize I was going that fast". Ya think the cop will let me go? Don't think so.

Do you feel the same way about McGwire? No proof there. How about Giambi? He did the same thing as Bonds. He admitted to it under grand jury testimony, but never tested positive so there's no proof.

If my lifelong friend and trainer who I know is on 'roids (as that was no secret to anyone) tells me to take something, I'm sure as hell going to find out what it is by reading up on it. It's my life, my profession and my body that he's asking me to put something into. I'd be crazy not to find out everything there is about it. It's all about personal responsibilty. Something that's GREATLY lacking in this country today.

As for the warning track shots, it's been mentioned a few times. I thought a Giants fan mentioned it in this thread (Blzer or Scottd)? I can't recall and don't care enough to look for it at the moment.

Bonds is not the same! He has warning track power now! It can be because he was pressing to much to hit HR to break the record or it could be he is done as the power hitter he once was! We will see now, because he broke the record. If it takes him so many at bat to hit his next one we will have our answer!

Of course hes not "the same" hes 41 years old and he has a badly injured knee.
I dont know how many games you have watched but he does not have warning track power now, that was something that was made up by Sportscenter early in the year when barry was struggling, to try to make it seem like hes off steroids.

i still think alot has to do with him getitng back in to the groove and the pressure of hitting 715.

Bonds has done it and done it using steroids but I think Ruth is still the better player he did it in less games less at bats in an era when there was no physical trainers steroids batting helmets shin gaurds elbow gaurds and he won over 100 games as a pitcher

You can say all you want! But the truth is Ruth face the same pitcher the whole game! They didn't have a relief specialist back then! Back in those days guys pitch many games in a row. There is no question Ruth was one of the greatest, and he was a hell of a pitcher too! It just show you that some are born to play this game!

Bonds is so damn strong that even when he just half swing it goes to the warning track! Before it would go out! I think his elbow has more to do with his lack of power! Because he spring training he was tearing it up! But then he got all these bone chips in his elbow. We will see if Bonds is done now. With the record behind him, we will see if he was pressing to much! I hope he was we need the power Bonds back!

Congrats to Bonds. He is now in second place. And everyone is celebrating it. Yes he passed Ruth in homeruns, but has not passed Ruth in terms of legacy.

Bonds passed a man by using steroids, knowingly(my vote) or unknowingly, but the fact remains he took steroids. So lets celebrate the man who is now second in homeruns hit of all time. Lets tip our hats to him. Lets praise his name. And lets remember to send letters to his jail cell when he gets convicted of perjury by the Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury can only indict (bring charges)... not convict.
