yea just like Guru said, IRod did this to prove he is healthy.

The Marlins might have been the only team interested in his services. Rodriguez was actually very close to goin to Japan next season to play there for a year and prove that he was healthy.

But you can never turn down a chance to play for a MLB team and ofcourse 10 million.

This was done for his own benefit while giving Florida a catcher for one year, since Johnson was traded to Colorado.

Rodriguez will be looking long term after this season, unless somethin drastic happens to him.

He was being courted by Baltimore really hard too.... I thought for sure that he was going to sign with them by the end of this week. Florida came out of nowhere.

The Marlins are putting together one of the best batter/pitcher batteries in the league. If they had a bit more hitting I'd be really worried about having them in my division.

Some players have a second career after a change of scenery! The pressure to win in Texas is terrible, and I don't see them winning soon either! Go Pudge!

A-Rod has at least offered to defer money to better the team in the past, I don't think he's a greedy guy.

Exactly. I'm a little worried about them being in the same division as the Phillies.. Beckett is going to be great if he can stay healthy the whole year. Penny is getting better each year, and A.J. Burnett has a good arm. Rumer has it that Pudge only calls fastballs when runners are on base to help him throw out runners. Lets see this year if that is the case

This wasn't a decision by Texas based on A-Rod's contract. Pudge has had injury problems, which almost all catchers do after 30. It may have been the right decision, but I still hate it. He's my favorite player of all time.
