Re: Hank Aaron won't witness Bonds break the record
Because if he knows Barry is innocent his conscience would get to him. How hasn't the man with the information turn on Bonds yet. That is my question?Comment

Like someone said earlier, he probably has a big check with his name on it waiting for him once he finally gets out of prison. But again, I'm just speculating here.Comment

Well, also remember because of the limited rotations and the fewer amount of teams, pitcher/batter familiarity was very high.
I also think your vastly underrating the impact of fatigue on a pitcher, and bear in mind that after the "dead-ball era", the MLB made an attempt to increase offensive production.
I disagree about fatigue- if you train to throw 150 pitches your whole life, you'll be well suited to do it. I've never read any 1st person (or 3rd person even) accounts from pitchers in the early part of the 20th century even once mentioning fatigue. You look at Doc Gooden in the 80s, guy threw 200 innings in the minors as an 18 year old. You try that with a guy today and his arm will fall off. Injuries are far more frequent now too.
The dead-ball argument only gives more credit to the hitters of days past who had to hit in spite of those restrictions.
I dunno why I'm arguing with a Dodgers fan in a Bonds threadLast edited by Spectre; 04-10-2007, 11:25 PM.

Scott, do you think the truth comes out in trials? Do you? Then you haven't been to many. Our courts are so corrupt these days AND unfair depending on who you are AND depending on how much money you have to defend yourself.
You need to get yourself arrested and I'll see how quick you are faithful to the American justice system.Last edited by jim416; 04-10-2007, 11:25 PM.Comment

Yeah, it's useless. I, like Jim, want to know what you really think Scott. You've got to have some sort of an opinion other than he's innocent until the courts say otherwise.Comment

You want my honest opinion. I don't know. I know he got big, but I have been a Giants fan and watched each year a bigger bigger Bonds. Not just over night or a year period. I guess I see a guy that was raise to respect the game and play fair. I mean Mays is Idol and God father and he knew what the game meant to them. But deep down inside I don't know.Comment

If he is found guilty then yes I will say he is guilty, but I have a cousin that play in the 70's and 80's in MLB and the story he told me about uppers made me think that cheating is always going to be apart of sports!Comment

I'm sure cheating goes back to the first sports ever played. But it doesn't mean we should just accept it.Comment

He's a Giants fan, and his team's season is being flushed down the toilet. I guess all that matters out in SF is the home-run record.I write things on the Internet.
