Anyway, linking him to professional body building doesn't really say much if we're trying to not link him to steroids.
Yeah I remember all the press he got for his bodybuilding. All the commercials and segments on ESPN...

I never knew what to believe with Kapler. He could be in great shape because he does lift religiously and is big into bodybuilding or he could be on 'roids like many other bodybuilders.

          So let the speculation continue.

Rumor has it that there is a current Major League player that Mitchell purposely left out of the report.

Said unidentified player is known to have purchased illegal performance enhancers but provided solid proof that he never used any of the stuff.

I don't know how you go about proving that unless you can show all of your shipments still being in box, sealed, and unopened. I think it still warrants mention.

Of course, it makes me wonder if perhaps the name is being kept secret through any urging of MLB to not ruin a particular star's reputation and therefore MLB's only saving grace.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I don't know if he was a pro bodybuilder, but I do remember there being an article on him in one of the popular bodybuilding magazines several years ago.

After hearing David Justice's on The Herd, I feel much better that he didn't take any HGH. Phew.

Don't know much about the body building culture. I've always assumed those guys were using, but honestly don't pay much attention to it.

Maybe there weren't any current Sox on the list because no current Sox used from those suppliers? Remember, this was a small sampling. I might be mistaken, but I think the Mitchell report used 3 different avenues to get their info (2 trainers and info from the BALCO investigation).

This list was just the tip of the iceberg. It shows that steroid usage is rampant in baseball (which most of us already knew). The fact that many teams didn't have a current player listed just goes to show that those teams players haven't been connected to the sources used in the Mitchell report.

                        Breaking news from ESPN.

Andy Pettite has addmitted to using HGH.

EDIT: He said he used to to help recover from an elbow injury back in 2002.

btw, anyone notice that there are no current Red Sox on this list? There are plenty of players that "jilted" the Sox, but no Boston players are on the list

perhaps that is because Mitchell is a member of the Boston Red Sox FO? conflict of interest anyone? I dont understand how they could appoint a current leader of a major league team to head this "investigation"
