The gold glove thread isn't any better.

Baseball is like church. Many attend, few understand.

Every fact, position and opinion has been brought up to support why Rollins should be the MVP and you've swiped them away with such great comebacks that Rollins plays in a division with bad pitching to everyone that doesn't see your point is a homer and ignorant.

You think Pujols should have won. Just like you think he should have won last year.

Going by your thinking, Pujols would be the MVP every year.

It doesn't exactly work like that.

But I'm a biased, ignorant homer that knows nothing about baseball.

I mean geez...I could see being all that if Rollins didn't win the MVP. But he did. Hard to give big bad argument over something that is fact now, but what do I know?

Look at your posts in this thread. There is not a single fact or statistic in any of them to support Rollins. I have nothing to defend against.

You think Pujols should have won. Just like you think he should have won last year.

Highest WARP3 this year in the NL. Highest WARP3 last year in the NL. Better all around numbers both years than the winners and superior defense. I confess, you found a flaw. Going by my thinking, the player with the best offensive numbers combined with top three defense at his position should win the MVP every year he does it. We should give it to some lesser player each year just to be fair.

But I'm a biased, ignorant homer that knows nothing about baseball.
From what I've read in this thread, that sounds accurate.

I mean geez...I could see being all that if Rollins didn't win the MVP. But he did. Hard to give big bad argument over something that is fact now, but what do I know?
Awards are often, if not regularly, incorrect. I guess you believe Palmeiro should have won a 1B gold golve when he played fewer than 30 games at the position? Or Jeter wins gold gloves despite being statistically the worst SS in the AL? Or Rollins gets a silver slugger this year despite trailing Hanley by 25 runs of VORP and nearly every statistical category, many of which aren't close?

Answer each question with something to support it, not just "it happened so it must be right." plzktxs

Anyone else is welcome to take a shot too, though I can count on one hand the number of people in this thread that will disagree with anything I presented here.

Here's a Phillies fan who makes an excellent case for David Wright as the MVP and rips Conlin to shreds in the process.

More on Conlin (not about the MVP discussion)

And my favorite quote from a Baseball Think Factory entry.
Hey, he wouldn't be a Philadelphian if he couldn't feel his guy was being both recognized and ignored at the same time.
It's almost like they're talking about you PK. (I kid, I kid)
