That's what Steve Phillips reported on SportsCenter. If Steve Phillips was still the Mets GM, we'd already have a deal done...

Seriously though, the Angels have what it takes to get this done. Boston's "best" offer was always just good enough to get the Yankees off the table. If the Angels are willing to part with their youth and pay this guy, we could easily be left out. But so far, they've hung onto these guys at every chance ... and some of their hesitance with Cabrera would probably transfer over in any talks with the Twins who have every right to ask for all those kids.

The Angels GM has already said they have had NO contact with the Twins, those reports were false.

That means very little. I'd be more surprised if he admitted to speaking with them. I'm not saying they haven't, but Jayson Stark isn't one to make stuff up so I have to believe there is some truth to it. We'll see, we'll see...

Well a lot of people were reporting it, so I can see why Stark would run with it. It seemed legit. But today at his press conference he straight up said, "We have had no contact with the twins regarding Johan Santana those reports are false."

Well a lot of people were reporting it, so I can see why Stark would run with it. It seemed legit. But today at his press conference he straight up said, "We have had no contact with the twins regarding Johan Santana those reports are false."

If he let it be known that he is going after Santana and does not produce once again I mean there have to be some sort of backlash to it. I wouldn't be heart broken if the Angels did get Santana.

Just to think Florida's GM didn't think this morning that the Tigers were serious in the pursuit of Cabrera and Willis.
