How bad does it suck to be the Marlins. I mean you can't get attached to an All-Star, ever.Comment

Re: Marlins and Tigers talking blockbuster...
If any team could use the best shortstop in baseball he'll be available this offseason for a bunch of players you don't need.
Loria is a mother****ing yambag that should be banned from baseball. He's a disgrace to the game.Comment

I love this trade for the Tigers, I think you always trade potential for proven commodities, that's coming after never hearing the end of Smoltz for Doyle Alexander. The Red Sox didn't give up anything to get Pedro when they basically let the Expos have their choice of prospects.Comment

Whats the best this guy can be, an all-star every year?
Oh wait they already gave that up.Comment

Re: Marlins and Tigers talking blockbuster...
Wow, good deal for Detroit. The Indians talked to Florida about Cabrera but once Adam Miller was mentioned by Florida, Shaprio hung up the phone. Sometimes you have to trade potential for right now. Not a Willis fan, feel he's really overrated so that's a potential wash, but love the Cabrera pickup.Comment

Re: Marlins and Tigers talking blockbuster...
Good trade for both squads.
Sadly you know that Florida won't be able to hang onto their young studs, namely guys like Hanley Ramirez, probably Maybin + Andrew Miller in a few years though. Miller and Maybin though will be very good players.
The Tigers are playing to win now, not playing to win in 2015 or something. Their bats are sick but getting older. Guys like Sheff, Polanco, Pudge, etc.. aren't young pups. Miguel Cabrera helps add a SICK bat and provides some youth. I'm sure that the Tigers can motivate MCab into staying into relative shape. Adding D-Train is more or less adding 200 innings or so IMHO. Maybe 200 innings of about a 4.5 ERA or something? Really, you can't ask for much more then that because this offense is just SICK.XBox 360 GT: XFactor416Comment

• Here are the three pitching prospects the Tigers are sending to the Marlins in the Cabrera-Willis deal: right-handers Eulogio De la Cruz (3.62 ERA in the minors with a blazing fastball), Dallas Trahern (13-6 between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo) and Burke Badenhop (12-6 between Lakeland and Erie).Colorado Avalanche (NHL)

Mets system is drained. They had their guys with Wright and Reyes coming up. They got rid of Kazmir, stupid and just traded Milledge who's value keeps on decreasing. Mets have no one to offer at the moment.Comment

Gomez and Fernando Martinez are still highly regarded. I don't think either Pelfrey or Humber is that great though.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Marlins and Tigers talking blockbuster...
Anyway, I replied to this before reading the whole thread, nice deal for the Tigers. I think Willis has a good year and Cabrera with a monster year. Tigers know they need firepower to play with Boston and New York, and that's what they got.Comment

Re: Marlins and Tigers talking blockbuster...
I just remembered that the Tigers also acquired Edgar Renteria. Their offense will now have Cabrera, Renteria, Monroe, Maggs, Granderson, Polanco, Inge and Pudge. That's a potent line up.Comment
