Don't act like you guys with Live weren't mad/suprised when sega said this years title won't support xbox live.

I wasn't mad or surprised. Disappointed maybe, but not mad. You guys act like online play has been around for years! Quit whining like some little girls!

perfectly said, if sega would have waited 2 or 3 months and got online play in. there sales would have been threw the roof, just as you said alot of gamers that arnt even baseball fans would have gotten it.

There's no way that a baseball game released in May/June would sell as well as a game released in March, regardless of it's online capability. Besides, if the game were online, all we'd get is a bunch of "cheeser" threads like in the football/basketball forums.

On a side note, I'm curious as to what company you own given your lack of capitalization, punctuation, and proper spelling of the word "their"

I would think that the gaming industry, being a competition for products, have no where near the resources that a country as a whole will plug into research and development. The race to put a man on the moon was subsisized by our government in order to beat the Russians to outer space. Making a car run solely on light has been researched because eventually we will run out of oil, to the need to find other sources of energy gets PLENTY of more money than a development firm to make a game; plus the fact that they take years just on research alone. Imagine EA coming out and saying, hey we will bring out a madden with everything you want and need by 2015, just keep sending us money to funde development.

And of course, cloning a human is something which is still highly in the R&D stages, and there is no time period to have this succeed, just as "soon as its ready"

I do agree with you that we, as consumers, subsidize these products, and those of us who arent happy should not invest in the companies, but there is no way you can mention achievements such as walking on the moon compared to seeing a working scoreboard in a baseball game.

I wasn't implying thats what it would take to make a game with all the features. I personally could care less about the online thing, because it has yet to be perfected in the PC world, why would it be perfected in the console world. I would just like to see a game that I can brag about like I still do with SNK. SNK was before its time, imagine if we had a game come out before its time with all the abilities a console like PS2 or XBOX holds. Just imagine a game with graphics like whats in the replays and cut scenes being implimented into the game play. Imagine a game that hold an in depth franchise mode like whats in OOTP on PC. Imagine a game thats hard to out think like they were being managed by another person. Is it too much to ask for these thing in a baseball game. I still play Madden, and it is still a challenge. I think $50 a year is worthy of this, but all I was stating was, I would be willing to pay more just to have these things. I love playing baseball games too much to not select one of the games this year, and I am leaning more towards WSB, but I think there are alot of people who feel the way I do about the increased potential for more options in the coming games. I'm scared to see what happens next year when they impliment online play, What will they take out of the game to make so called room for that?

Plus, I'm sure that people were frusterated with how much better WSB 2K2 for Dreamcast could've been without online play. Online play truly SUCKED on the Dreamcast, and not to mention with all that memory taken on that, they couldn't make it better in other aspects.

So, in my opinion, hell, wait ANOTHER yeaar before online play comes out. As a matter of fact, wait til the PS3 and Xbox Next come out... I can wait that long.

Also, just so there IS no lag, make it High-Speed connection only! No dial-up... that will kill a baseball online game.

Paulywerner said it best. Online gaming (especially with baseball) hasn't been perfected yet. While LIVE has made leaps and bounds with online play, creating a lag-free baseball game is still quite difficult.

3DO and it's High Heat franchise has tried online play for the past couple years. They realize the darn thing never works most of the time anyways (but when it does, it's damn fun). So in this year's new revamped game, they didn't even bother adding online play for PC.

I dont htink you guys are referring to me, but just in case I will clarify........What I said was that arcade /computer Baseball is generally Boring for me to play (just me)

And that Online play would have made me purchase the game iin the hopes that it would make the game more exciting.. But even with that feature, there is no guarantee that it would be fun FOR ME. But I would have at least made a purchase to find out...........

Bottom line, whoever said the developers dont have to listen to me is right. But then again, I dont have to give them my money either.

As a marketing guy myself, for what it's worth, I love to hear feedback from customers who purchased and didnt purchase our products. I dont ignore the customer and label their feedback as unimportant. Even if we cannot accomodate their every wish, It's still good to know what they want.

Why are people soo defensive ? Who works for Sega Here ?Everyone needs to calm down and not assume the worst.
