I'm scared to see what happens next year when they impliment online play, What will they take out of the game to make so called room for that?

    Yes!! Someone understands!!

Sega never promised online play for this year's game. In fact, I'm willing to bet that they will have to take something out or rework parts of the game to try to get online play in for next year.

As far as making the ultimate baseball game, other parts of the game would have to suffer in order to get all the wanted features in there. Each game coming out this year has concentrated on something different. If WSB had tried to put in all the game modes that ASB has, something else from the game would probably have to be dumbed down. Maybe the stadiums wouldn't look as good, or maybe they wouldn't have been able to expand on their franchise mode.

There is give and take for each of these games, and each has their own merit. As the consoles get better, people expect more and more from the games themselves. I would be willing to bet that graphics are the most important thing to the average gamer. I would like to say that when PS3 comes out, we would be able to get all these features into our games. But guess what? The first improvement that will be made is to upgrade the graphics engine. It's just the way things go. One would hope that the code would be portable enough to translate to the next system, but that didn't seem to work too well moving from PSX to PS2.

We all can hope and pray that we can have a utopia of sorts on our next gaming system. Until then, let's enjoy the great games we have now.

Re: SEGA dropped the ball again!

IMO I think Microsoft had something to do w/ WSB2K3 not going live on the Xbox. It's kind of strange that all the Baseball titles are missing Live play but Microsoft's title. I'm sure if Sega (and everybody else for that matter) knew MS was going to make their game playable on Live they would've made WSB2K3 playable on Live too. WSB2K2 for the Dreamcast was playable online. It wouldn't have been nothing for Sega to add it but by time MS let the cat out of the bag about their game being Live playable it was too late to turn back. Really I don't care and I'm tired of hearing people whine about it.

We all knew for months this was happening. Just drop the freakin subject already.

Not to prolong this, but you would be wrong. Microsoft wants as many games on Live as possible so they can sell their hardware. Also the network part of 2k2 wasn't done very well, so i'm sure they wouldn't have wanted to keep that code around. The two systems are different, so not an easy port.

I just love all these conspiracy theories going around.
