Good victory tonight. Maybe the bats will stay hot and we can rough up Jensen tomorrow. That's if our TBA #5 doesn't get too badly roughed up himself.

Whoa, where did that come from? All I was saying that there were high expectations for Burroughs last year. Hell, some people already had him pegged for the HOF. I was AGREEING with you. High expectations --> bad.
As for Giants fans in general, there are 2 classes. The ones you are referring to are the rich people who decided it was chic to buy super expensive seats at the new stadium as a status symbol. They're not the real fans. Real fans are those of us who bought season tickets to Candlestick and sat through those freezing extra inning night games. Most Giants fans are very knowledgable, just not the ones sitting in the expensive seats. Head out to the bleachers and you'll find very devout and knowledgable fans. People like my dad who saw them play at Seals Stadium, and people like me who have been going to games and watching since Willy McCovey was an All-Star. It infuriates me to no end that I can't even buy tickets to opening day because the charter seat holders and businesses buy up all the tickets.
I really do hope that this doesn't happen at your new stadium. It takes away from the enjoyment of the game.
And for the record, I hope the Pad's do well this season, just as long as they can keep taking out the Dodgers.Comment

Re: Official Padre Thread
I spent more than my share of time in the bleachers in Candlestick during my 4 year stay in Candlestick, especially back in the day when the tickets were $4.50 or however cheap they were. I know all about your typical Giants fans. Funny thing is everyone I know who has spent anytime up there says the same thing without fail.

I'm not a Padres fan, pursay... but Hoffman is my favorite closer out there, even though he is out till the All-Star Break.
I'm really impressed with that Peavy guy... he seems to have some good stuff...
(sorry for jumping in this discussion late, didn't feel like like catching up... LOL)Comment

Depends on how many outs he had in the inning, if none, I don't think he's ERA will be valid (7*9/0)?Comment
