I won't put anything past Towers, the guy is a witch as far as I'm concernred. Everybody freaked out when they started pulling apart that 1998 team, please tell me where all those guys are now. I think the only guy they blew it on was Finley, because he's had some productive years since he left. You are right though, I can see the Yankees making a push for Vlad and maybe he Dodgers going after Tejada, but I won't be surprised in the least if one of them ends up in PETCO. Guys have wanted to come to San Diego for years, but the team hasn't had the money to give them, the new park will change that.

And that's not even the whole team. Guys like Miceli, Wall, Leyritz, Hernandez, Sheets(Oh yeah, who did we get for him?), to name a few. That team was a one year deal anyway. Towers knows how to put a team together, and he will do it again.Comment

Re: Official Padre Thread
Nevin will still have some pop... but that shoulder will be a problem forever. If he stays with the Padres... I think he'll suit better as a fifth guy in the lineup behind Nady and Klesko... or sixth if Kotsay continues to bat third.Comment
