We get it, the Yankees can spend more money than everyone else, and it's unfair.
It is unfair. It's also real easy to make light of when you are the team with the unfair competitive advantage.

The Yankees have the best run business in the game. Until they put limits on how much you can spend you can't blame the Yankees.

They bring in so much revenue and they have their brand new stadium which is UNREAL and is a perfect model of bringing in huge $$$. They are in the perfect market and have all the tradition.

Funny thing is...I think the Yanks payroll is actually LESS than last years.

bk....I know the Mets can't compete with the Yanks(money wise)...I was saying 4 mil+ ain't a bad second fiddle, right!

A-Rod was considered the best hitter in the league when he went to the Yanks though. At least I think he was. Tex isn't even considered the best player at his position.

If you mean in the way Boston fans feel about him, then yeah... I think your right.

I should've clarified. I mean he's the new A-Rod in terms of having the NY media and fans scrutinizing every little thing he does and forever being disappointed no matter how well (or IMO how badly) he plays there.

This could be Steve Sax in NY bad.

It's the advantage they get for playing in that market.

The Mets given the resources they have, are almost as underachieving as the Yankees.

I am not sure if it is by much. They have the Top 4 contracts in baseball. And their SS,3b, and 1b have a higher payroll than about 50% of the teams out there.

I though my buddy was ragging on me when he said the Yanks signed Tex. Couldn't really confirm-it due to the Internet going out @ my job.

I'm shocked... I figured after trading for Swisher & signing CC & Burnett they would go after Manny to fill the hole left behind by Abreu & Giambi. I guess Hal wasn't lying when he said they would do what ever it took to get the Yankees back to the WS.

As a Yankee Fan I have no words... I am in TOTAL SHOCK..

When you add in Pettitte probably getting $10m, they will be right at where they were last year.

Nobody seems to realize this. The Yanks aren't going from a $205 million dollar payroll to $275 million dollar payroll. They are going from a $205 million dollar payroll to a $200-$210 million dollar payroll.
I wouldn't even waste my time with some of these haters here. It's most boston and mets fans that are angry.

They lost about $88 mil off their payroll last year, and replaced that with about $60+ mil for this upcoming season...
