Again, not in defense of Thome at all but....Looking at his forearm, and thighs they've always looked pretty big. Not huge mind you, but that of a guy that works out. I think the area on him that has seen the largest growth is in his midsection. Also those uniforms are tighter than what players wear today.

Re: Name players that you think were clean during the steroid era
1. Sammy Sosa Denied using Steroids in 2005. Yet there is no Sammy Sosa Perjury Case is there?
2. Like I said right after it happened. They Checked many of his prior bats and none of them had any Cork in them.
3. I'm sticking to my point. He could easy word something wrong
4. Yeah It's natural for numbers to drop as you get old. Hank Aaron went from 40 HRs to 20 HRs in one year as he got older. It's Natural.
It has happen to all the big Home Run Hitters
and you may want to update your fact sheetComment

Sweet baby jesus Joe Mauer doesn't use juice...
he uses delicious Land 'O Lakes Milk.
I always had a feeling that Sosa was juicing, just goes to show you that no one is safe when it comes to the finger pointing in the steroid era... hopefully for Ibanez's sake, we don't find out he's been juicing, that would be the Palmiero moment of 2009.Florida State Seminoles-Minnesota Twins-Green Bay Packers-Minnesota Golden Gophers-Orlando Magic-Minnesota Wild

Re: Name players that you think were clean during the steroid era
We will never fully know. It never really surprises when people are listed. I mean if someone came to you and told you could gain some more speed, strength, and most important lasting energy by taking a pill or injection .... and that there is no testing at all and everyone else is doing it. Thats hard to turn down, extremely. It's still baseballs fault, but it did revive it ha. 1998...... Bud Selig fails. If you ain't cheating, you aint trying.
I do hope Griffey is clean though, if not he still is one of the greatest.Comment

Re: Name players that you think were clean during the steroid era
The guy who has been advocating for steroid testing since the mid 90s, was the only active player who agreed to be interviewed in the Mitchell report, and showed absolutely no career trends of steroid use used steroids?
The only reason to suspect him of steroids is that he's big. Most players who played tight end for Auburn during a streak of 4 top 10 finishes were big.
The man shows no statistical signs of steroids. His first 3 full years in the majors, he hit 97 homers. His best 3 year stretch in his career was 119 over the next 2 years and the last year of his first 3 (ages 25-27).
Bond's first three years he hit 68 and went up to 168 at ages 35-37 (and he had 310 more at bats over the first 3 years). Sosa went from 61 his first 3 full years to 179 at ages 29-31. McGuire went from 114 to 193 (ages 33-35).
The only way Frank Thomas was juicing was if he came into the league juicing.Comment

1. It was too readily available.
2. It now seems to have been pushed on talented players by trainers with the prospect of making it to the majors and escaping poverty in the DR.
3. Tejada, Manny Ramirez, Sosa, Jose Guillen, Guillermo Mota, and countless others.
Vladimir Guerrero and Albert Pujols will never be on a list of players I would ever consider to be clean.Comment

No Chipper Jones on your list?
What years would qualify for the steroid era? Would players like Ron Gant and Ray Lankford qualify?Comment
