t really makes me miss the old days of baseball, the great players that were around then and the way teams were built, the way the fans appreciated the sport, etc.

I don't think it is. The goal of a hitter is TO NOT MAKE AN OUT. If I could go to the plate and walk every time that would be fine with me. I don't understand getting frustrated because you are accomplishing your goal of not making an out.
